The emperors personal guard, the companions (at the time numbering about 10k), held off the entire warp for 3 years in the War for the Webway (they had some Mecanicum and Sister of Silence help, but they did most of the fighting). They only started taking any real losses in the final year when Terra basically phased into the Warp partially, and the traitor legions and traitor Mecanicum showed up.

Even then, they effectively held off the forces of hell until the fall of Horus and Big E becoming the world’s angriest lighthouse.

Apparently there are people unbelievably furious that checks notes there’s lady Space Marines in WH40K.

Something I genuinely didn’t even know wasn’t there and had just assumed were around somewhere. I really can’t imagine being upset over something so little.

It’s especially hilarious that the supposed lore nuts are going “well actually!” regarding how there can’t be female space marines due to in lore reasons…completely ignoring that the Custodes are not space marines and have never been stated to have the same genetic restrictions.

While the lore has never gone in-depth into their creation, what info there is gives these idiots nothing to stand on.

The going lore behind why the Space Marines can’t be female is due to conflicts with the geneseed organs. Always been a bit of a bullshit reason but it’s what’s always been the explanation.

Custodes are 100% different, as I mentioned before. Each one is a handcrafted work of art, using complex science and “biomancy” to genetically alter every major physical system, as well as lots of mental conditioning and warp spaghetti to make them utterly incorruptible.

Nothing in the lore says they cannot be women.

I honestly didn’t even know what a Custode was till like a day ago. My knowledge of WH40K came entirely from cultural osmosis and some youtube shorts I saw of a Salamander fighting a Necron uh thing.

The Salamanders seem cool.

The Salamanders are cool, and their (hilariously immortal) primarch, Vulcan, is probably the nicest example of humanity in the entire setting.

Except for that one eldar child incident, but we don’t talk about that.

Oh so the Eldar child is a lore thing. I thought the comments I saw in a few videos were because the Imperium is fiercly xenophobic and just kills Xeno scum.

Both are correct technically, the Imperium is extremely xenophobic on the whole, but there’s a lot of variability. And the Imperium is generally pretty chill with the Eldar and Tau, fighting mostly skirmishes and isolated wars. The Imperium actually has a sort of defacto alliance with several Eldar craftworlds and the whole thing would have fallen to peices without everyone’s favorite knife-ear Eldrad and Rowboat Girlymans big tiddie elf girlfriend Yvrian.

Keanu Reeves has been cast as Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

i was hoping for hayden christensen but keanu is cool.

TBH I felt Hayden would’ve too annoying as Shadow, given how he sounded like a spoiled brat as Anakin.

I would’ve preferred Aaron Paul.
