The Nerd Thread (comics, movies, anime, cartoons, video games, lore, fun stuff, ect.)
Kind of wild how the studio that used to publish Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon games before their ex-parent shipped them off to Activision is now helping make a film based off the biggest video game franchise in the world.
@Beau Skunky
I like to imagine a StarFox movie as being Nintendo’s version of Guardians of the Galaxy.
I can also view other games as tv show adaptations like
Earthbound as Stranger Things
Pikmin as Gilligan’s Island/Lost in Space
Fire Emblem as Game of Thrones
And Kid Icarus as any number of anime shows
(though a movie similar to Clash of the Titans and Disney’s Hercules works fine as well)
@Dr_Osaka
Starfox movie as kinda like Guardians but maybe with a bit of Star Trek 2009.
Fox McCloud is a punk just drifting through life after James dies until Peppy finds him and tries to get Fox back on track as pilot and leader.
@Dustcan
It could very well still be canon but it just has been so long since season 3 that things changed. They can just make the canonicity of all Netflix shows ambiguous and we can just decide for ourselves if they are canon from the MCU since there is a 5 year gap and probably longer after the cancellation of those shows.
Has there ever been an instance of a spinoff character being superior to the original? Like a Batgirl getting one over Batman, She Hulk besting Hulk, Spiderman or Ghost Spider scoring a W on Spiderman, etc?
@Dustcan
I know there’s a case where the rip-off character ended up more beloved than the original. Deadpool was originally a Deathstroke ripoff, but due to divergent development ended up more iconic.
