mayor players in comic media
CBR: is mostly ok now though there forums is like internet version of a warzone sometimes
newsrama: is mostly ok
comic alliance: confusing at least for me
bleeding cool: was good but rich johnson & what’s his name slowly became jerk ish this year with how there articles are written
cosmicbooknews: aka crybabynews created & run by one guy because his upset with one character nova(rider) & becomes a bit of a crybaby when he doesn’t get his way
comicbook.com: like newsrama ok overall
comic conspiracy: represents the old guard of comics too much feels like playing by pre 2008 of the industry & anything like digital comics or any new way to sale comics shouldn’t count IMO

anyone else weirded out that in fiction, you can weaponize even the most benevolent of technologies but if it’s a purely militaristic tech, it can’t be used for domestic/non military purposes.
like you have this faction that finds lostech/alien tech but can only create weapons with that tech but if someone creates a snow machine, someone can turn it into a freezing gun/bomb.

Good Powers Bad People is a trope I want to see more of actually.
I really don’t see it all that often. A heroic power being used for evil.
The main example I can think of is Semirhage in Wheel of Time using her prodigous healing powers to keep people alive just so she can torture them for as long as possible. (Like replacing sll of a person’s blood with tar)

so far i can think of two mecha anime where the antagonist side’s technologically superior military wise but absolutely horrible domestic wise.
you find a alien tech in mars where you can make quantum clones of yourself and your mecha, anti-gravity, invisibility, invincibility but your nobility has to make do with rations of space food.
the commoners eat krill and algae.

Probably, especially if the MC is stuck as a small animal,
@gingerninja666
Most Darkside adepts in Star Wars do, self augmentation is a light side ability, yet Palpatine wouldn’t be able to fend off most trained Soldiers let alone a Jedi without it, and Kylo’s signature move Stasis is a Lightside affiliated power,

Maybe because military tech is inherently designed for warfare without any thought for other applications? While civvie tech has broader applications and can more easily be adapted? I’unno, never put much thought in it.

sometimes it’s just they explain that the engines that power their death machines wreck havoc on circuitry, electronics and radio signals (like in mobile suit gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans their inderstructible, near limitless ahab reactors are illegal in urban areas for that reason), others like in Iron Man, Tony Stark is paranoid that his Arc Reactor tech can be used by villain and is keeping that tech to himself and trusted allies even if the world at large can benefit it.
come to think of it, a lot of american comic book super hero tech are mostly off limits to civilians because they fear the potential abuse outweighs the potential benefits to mankind in general.

true but if people can call out on wakanda not sharing their tech (and cancer cure) to the world, it’s only fair everyone else gets the same treatment.
though iirc wakanda was afraid the world governments would’ve kept the cancer cure to themselves (or at least sold at martin shkreli level prices) and not to the people themselves.

I’m guessing stuff like that falls under suspension of disbelief or something? It’d have to be conveniently ignored or it’d be too big a point.

I have the old marvel universe guidebooks, this description is very common
“despite photographic and video evidence, the public thinks it/he/she is a hoax”
savage land, atlantis, a crap ton of gods and goddesses: hoax
but keeps falling for “spider-man is a menace” all the damn time.
