I know the feeling. Sometimes it feels like you could take your dislike for this type of social justice too far and end up a genuinely bad person.

Surprise, mostly. Some laughs here and there.

She shouldn’t have said it. However, there is a qualitative difference between someone lashing out in anger after months of abuse, and someone who routinely uses the phrase “just kill yourself”, which all of the sjws involved hwve done. For them to start hooting and yelling about hypocrisy after everything they have perpetrated is shitty, evil behaviour. They are bullies. Nothing less.

I’ve talked to some admins about it, and how that’s almost futile. The trolls see easy trolling and the crazies see a soapbox.
 
This constant negativity can’t be good for us. Even discussing it rationally can turn one into a misanthrope at a glance.

At best (worst?) I get a Laugh out of it. At worst (best?) it makes me ponder about what I consider right and wrong.  
I can’t say that I feel like this thread is all that productive outside of a personal level but I still think there’s value in it.

@Itsthinking They already mentioned it should remain open due to containment a month back. Can you imagine z-man spouting his absolute nonsense across the rest of the site? Yeah. Best to keep that under lock and key. Look at how this thread has gone, and imagine if __-, mayojar, kassarc, and gg were in here too. Then you’ll have a picture of how all the meta or comic posts will look after closure.

I honestly don’t know. I didn’t expect this, and I didn’t expect you guys to be so voracious towards its subject matter. Look at how many pages this damned thing is, it’s obviously something that you guys care about.
 
I try to keep it under control because I feel like I an obligation. Few things actually shock me anymore. I’m sort of jaded to how people react to certain things.
 
I don’t know if this thread is of value or complete shit. I wanted a thread where people could just discuss things like adults because I believe Derpibooru is a place that can handle that.

@Itsthinking You shoulda expected it considering tumblr and DA have pretty much never let up since their first ‘public victory’ and have tried over and over to rope show staff into their obscene views of reality and get them to hate on the fanbase that made the show what it is. They will basically only stop once the show has been cut back down to conflictless G3-levels or reworked to have all the evil ponies background or villains be cis whitecoated male classic unicorns with beards and dumb hats.

This thread can go either way. It could be a good place for people to vent, or a bad place that stresses people out. It’s hard to know, really.
 
Despite some heated exchange, it’s more or less civil, so at least it’s good to know derpibooru can handle it. But if you’re not comfortable with it, just lock it.

I think that can be discussed rationally. Not with the people themselves obviously, but one of my aims is to dissect rather than feel annoyed/threatened by their behavior.
 
Rather than fall in the way that they’re trying to make me, I’m thinking of why they do it to begin with, what could make them think their actions are logical?
 
Really, that’s why a lot of this doesn’t affect me as it once does. Seeing these encounters as pseudo-anthropological insights into the minds of a certain demographic really helps with dealing with them.

Another interpretation is that in that game the odds are much higher that their papers are fake vs that they’re 1:250 (correct me if I’m wrong) who is trans.

none of the guys/gals that get denied access seem to say im trasgender as their defense, plus, dont trasgenders actually STRIKE to look like the other sex? (i know surgery its expensive, but something like wearing “girls clothes” or getting short hair), most of the people with wrong gender on their cards look completely like a a cis person.
 
then again i have only played trough 6 days, and i dont know much about how transgenders.
 
so to say the least, it seems they didint made the game thinking about people from different genders.

I don’t browse SJW-stuff as much as some people here, but this thread does make me feel a little less alone in my attachment to the issue.
 
The thread has surely escalated numerous times, making me wish I could lock it, and the discussion is a bit lacking in people who hold more contrary ideas, but from what little I’ve observed in my inconvenient time zone, it’s been more civil than a lot of places.
 
On a more personal note, it seems that I’m finally catching a break in life, so I can afford to participate in this discussion more.
 
Though maybe I shouldn’t, I don’t know. There are a lot of better things I could do, whether or not I will do them probably does depend on the lockedness (#wordoftheweek) of this thread

I’d agree that the reactions against some SJWs have been blown out of proportion at times. I have even seen some Tumblr users – who I wouldn’t consider extreme enough to be an SJW – get a disproportionately large negative backlash from anti-SJWs. The responses tend to not be as extreme as some infamous SJWs, I assure you, but regardless, both ends of the discussion are very much guilty of twisting each other’s words, playing victim, rantic rebuttals, favouring sass over substance, needless insults, ignorance, denial, hypocrisy, immaturity, the whole 9 yards.
 
This is the state of the discussion from what I’ve seen. Hell, I am probably guilty of one or two of those myself, and a lot of the popular anti-SJW bloggers probably are also. People like Tena in my opinion are more similar to their SJW couter-parts than they’d like to admit. Arguably PlebComics too, though that’s a topic for another time.
 
Both sides have flaws and have lost it, and admitting that is what I think is important. It’s just the way it is, and considering how immensely easy it is to share things on tumblr, the ridiculousness of some extremists is more easily seen. #SadButTrue

I don’t think they’re really SJW-material. The way they see it Papers, Please seems fair enough. It’s not like they think the game should change or anything. Sure they seem to be more loose in their use of the term transphobia, but I still wouldn’t associate them with the people who actually do deserve the SJW label.
 
Look at the tags too, seems fairly understandable imo: “dont tell people definitely not purchase this game because of some transphobia, theyre not trying to promote or encourage it or anything, im pretty sure the world wasnt really educated on trans people back in the 30s, like they are today”

First time I’ve heard about these SJWs I almost completely lost all hope for the modern world. But then I met you guys And it’s got me thinking, maybe the future isn’t lost to us after all.  
Seeing you guys actually give a damn about this. Well, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing, right?

I discovered social justice warriors through the ableism witchburnings of Derpy. To my shock when I googled ableism and derpy I found several communities (which I later found out were SJW echochambers) which agreed with them removing Derpy. At that point I felt really dreadful that the entire world has been turned upside down and the patients were running the asylum. Later I found several communities which were dedicated to calling out the insanity in the social justice movement, and then normality finally returned again.
