In this he is right. Many of the groups/organizations/nations out there complaining about “oppression” from the West are some really shitty actors. It’s popular to hate the West on the left but those that do, don’t know jackshit about the world at lage. They watched something on Tiktok about how evil America is or something, not knowing they are doing Russia or China’s bidding. There are many very, very stupid people.

People love using the US as a big bad boogeyman. I have noticed it.

Yeah and the more one digs into the sources behind various movements, the more foreign ties one finds. It can be conservative or progressive in form. Does not matter as long as it harms the US. The more shit they can stir up, the better. The more young people hate their nation, the better. For China and Russia that is.

Not just the British. Pretty sure you can add the French to that equation considering they had Syria in their control back then.

The Middle Eastern fire was started by the Brits, and the US has since poured gasoline on it on multiple occasions.

You all do know there is a before and after here right? It’s not all just colonialism, that is a very narrow view of these regions of the world and the people living there.

After recent events, I might as well say I’m fucked and forfeit my rights as a minority immigrant. We got this whole immunity case that feels very skewed in Trump’s favor, the TikTok ban and its base of short-sighted asshats, and people aggressively humping their ivory tower over Palestine.

My family and I came here for a new life, and all that’s here is a bunch of suburb moral grandstanders thinking throwing women and minorities under the bus is the way to go.

The RNC is apparently wasting millions of dollars reviving Big Lie attempts at suing state election boards over “fraud” and trying to get absentee ballot rules changed.

Efforts like this have already failed, even in deep red states, and changes in absentee ballot rules have just as much a chance of hurting older republican voters as it does liberal voters.

So why waste the cash? Because the RNC is now ran by Trump loyalists that believe in this bullshit.

I’m happy to watch them burn cash on tilting at this particular windmill though, since it’s less money they’ll have to actually campaign.

I never cared much about polls conducted three years ahead of the actual election: so early on, they often end up hardly mattering in regard of the actual results (for one, there’s no guarantee that either Edouard Philippe or Gabriel Attal will be picked as Macron’s successor; it could just as well be Bruno Le Maire, or even Gérald Darmanin — aka Sarkozy 2.0).

More relevant would be the polling about the upcoming european election.

With an expected score that’s twice as high as Renaissance’s (Macron’s party, which they beat by a single point in the previous election, back in 2019 — 23.2% to 22.2%), the rise of the far-right — which is part of a broader movement in Europe — is more apparent (because the ignorant masses — even the half that cares enough to move their asses up to the ballot box — are just as short-sighted as ever).

Another point of interest is the socialist list (whose party had sunk into irrelevance in the wake of Macron’s re-election) making a surprising comeback from their pitiful 6.2% in 2019 and having some fair odds of taking the second place away from the macronists, while the right (les Républicains) is stagnant, same as the far-left (since the NUPES couldn’t agree on a common list, la France Insoumise is looking at a marginal improvement from their 2019 score at best), and the ecologists are about to eat the second biggest loss (when they had previously managed to take the third place with 13.5% of the vote).
