And so about once a year a dedicated Derpibooru follower will perform the ceremonial bumping of the awesome Rainbow Dash guitar solo so a new generation of Derpibooru image browsers will have a chance to appreciate Josh Ng’s artistic awesomeness.

we all have our own preferences. I’d personally agree with @Mike in that this image doesn’t need a feature, it’s already gotten more than enough exposure

Featured images are determined by a vote. I personally try to avoid voting for inactive/non-community artists, but I have no influence over what others vote for.

Score has nothing to do with it. We can feature images with high scores. It’s uncommon, but completely allowed.
 
That being said, I personally wouldn’t nominate or vote for this to be featured. The artist isn’t a member of this site, and hasn’t produced any MLP content in nearly two years. I rather vote for/nominate images from community members who still draw pony content
