Dread is so good man. Easily my favorite Metroid game and possibly my favorite Metroidvania with it’s only real competition being Ori and the Will of the Wisps

They’re both very good games. My biggest complaint is they both sort of missed the point of the original. The original was a very dark, gloomy, somber, creepy game, and neither of the remakes got that. But, they’re still both really good in their own right. I still need to try Dread XD

I like both Samus Returns and AM2R a lot. AM2R is still better, but SR still has a lot going for it, especially the new melee counter and Aeon, the latter of which honestly being better in SR than in Dread imo.

AM2R gameplay-wise is identical to Zero Mission, and is a lot more creative lore-wise than Samus Returns. Like, how you get these readouts about what each area likely was before it fell into ruin and how in the end it reveals the crystals the baby Metroid eats are dormant X Parasites that become active now that the Metroids are gone. It has a lot of attention to detail that I love :D

I like Samus Returns; it has it’s ups and downs, but it’s fun for the most part.
I haven’t played AM2R, but it looks like a bigger, fan-made sequel to Zero Mission (my personal favorite 2D Metroid), so I think I’d probably like it better too.

If nothing else I’ve heard it’s a lot better than Samus Returns. I liked Samus Returns, but I ultimately liked AM2R a lot more :D
