Anyway, wanting to see two characters interact more doesn’t necessarily mean you think they’d work as a couple. All it definitely means is that Zeph has a dynamic with RD (being Flutter’s oldest friend, and a former Cloudsdale resident) that he has with nobody else, and Ashley wanted to see more of it.

its great that its technically not official then and for good reason……mind you i’m not against any of them being gay or bi or whatever its just that as soon as the first episode aired people right away were labeling Dash as lesbian due to looking like a walking talking stereotype what with the rainbow mane and tomboy characteristics which obviously is not a good thing to be projecting. and for 9 seasons there has not been one once of Dash flirting or making any type of motions that would indicate that whatsoever. so yeah it would be incredibly jarring for her to be so just out of the blue like that. and you know stereotyping even if unintentional.  
and then theres the RariJack that has been heavily implied both in pony verse and in eqg for many years now…. seriously if there was a poll held asking if 2 of the mane six were to be hooked up together at the end who would it be based on what youve seen throughout the series??? RariJack would by far take the number one spot and AppleDash would probably be 3rd as im pretty sure TwiDash would take 2nd  
From what i can tell the only reason they would put that potential implication in there is just because Ashleigh Ball stated many years ago that she supports the LBGTQ community and that she doesnt mind shipping her characters together because well….there here characters. and so thats why chose to write it as they did.

I will discuss a bit, though:  
It’s kind of silly to point out their interactions when virtually all of them have interacted since season one. They’re the mane six. They’re all good friends. It was intentionally ambiguous, and insisting that it’s canon pushes more authority than saying it’s not canon, so it’s easier to say “non-canon” and respect that the pairing could still be happening mostly behind the scenes, if that’s your interest.
 
e.g. something like, say, Soarin’ and Spitfire is very much not canon, but it’s still perfectly open to whoever ships it.

Yes, because the obvious ‘couple discussion’ and Rainbow Dash petting only AJ in the head were totally a coincidence. They were not hints. It’s very weird, it is not like RD and AJ interacted with each other since season 2. This is really something new. They are just friends like BonBon and Lyra.

Even Ashley Ball ship them (because she voice both of them and she great actress) but it doesn’t mean they will ship them as a couple. If they did it should it be official by now. It is a ship fuel and that all just like rarijack. The only ship that is official is Lyrabon.
