And now you know better. That’s the point of my message. The point being that yeah, we’re going to be angry, and yeah, we’re going to step on your feelings. Because if we’re not angry, nothing changes.
Or to put this a little bit differently: trying to make everything nice is a way oppressors work to keep people from trying to actually change things. That’s why I pointed out that getting more offended over problematic behavior being pointed out is part of the problem, because it only helps those who oppress and those who benefit from said oppression. After all, “when you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.”
You seem like you’re fairly ignorant, which is fine so long as you’re willing to correct that. Being ignorant isn’t bad, so long as it isn’t willful. Just don’t take it personally if people get mad at you when you say ignorant things, because if you do you miss the whole point, and you’re taking the wrong thing away from the situation.
Besides, can you blame people for getting angry? I mean jeez especially in the United States it’s incredible what just saying things like this can do. Some people point out that hey, yeah, Black Lives Matter because they do and you know maybe cops shouldn’t kill them all the time, and the US was so amazingly racist it started a whole movement called Blue Lives Matter to tell black people where to stick it.
To make clear what I just said in my last paragraph: you can’t move forward with the rights of disenfranchised groups without recognizing that those groups are the ones who don’t have their rights recognized. Thus messages like this image, and Black Lives Matter, which are pointing out the ones who are being disenfranchised. This is why changing the message to, say, “All Lives Matter” is directly harmful to the whole reason the message is being stated. It’s pointing out a problem that exists.

Woah. I never said anything about not being offended about you being killed. In fact, I didn’t even know that was happening.I just misunderstood the message.
