And yet Flurry being an alicorn came as a surprise for everyone in-show, princesses included.  
I wonder if we’ll get an answer to that mystery by the end of the season.

Good point, though I honestly don’t mind Flurry Heart as much as many fans do. I was practically the only one not surprised she was an alicorn. Considering her Mother was one, I would’ve been more surprised if she wasn’t one.

It’s not even really about that. I feel that having starlight follow the exact same plot path as twilight would be a huge waste in story telling potential. The most likely future for her is following in starswirls footsteps and becoming the most powerfull unicorn wizard and a friend and advisor to the princesses of equestria.

But this is Starlight we’re talking about. She went from being a psychopath to immediately being really nice, and I for one have always been indifferent, and do not see the point to pointlessly getting upset over it, but if she went from evil to an alicorn at the end of the season, I think a lot of people, especially people who won’t stop bitching about Starlight, will be extremely pissed.

I know that but honestly if she was thrown in a dungeon without any magic for a few months you know punished for her past crimes and let’s that be honest here realistically she would be executed for them I truly believe would’ve made her a much more sympathetic character in my eyes thus easier to find likable but until I finally warm up to starlight I just can’t forgive her for what she did.

I’ll never understand why so many people are willing to gloss over the fact that she essentially brainwashed and psychologically totured an entire village of ponies for celestia knows how many years all because of her pathetically weak backstory and not to mention she was forgiven way too easily and never got her comeuppance something that past villains turned good such as Trixie, Luna, discord and sunset all had to deal with when they were defeated by twilight which makes it extremely difficult to sympathize with her after all who would you feel sympathy for? Someone who committed a crime and got away scott free or someone who was punished and actually had to work to get their life on track? Yeah I thought so.
