Ah, but exploring the terrible grimdark things that canonically happened in this episode are fun!
I wonder what method of execution Sombra preferred, and what he used on Shining Armor and Cadence? I wonder how many of these timelines Starlight died in? XP
It’d be ironic to take Starlight to see her alternate form’s demise. That may change her mind… And be something of an eldritch horror to behold (an alternate form of yourself die) O.o
@Cirrus Light
That’s a bit of a reach. Going by just what we see in this image, Dash was trapped in a crystal. That’s it. It seems to freeze ponies without any other harmful effects.

If something had no logic at all it’d just be Discord’s world - very different from a story with believable elements.
Even Discord’s world has some logic to it, though. Buffalo seen as manly, therefore put them in tutus for ironic reasons. Make the ground wacky because it’s not normally that way, etc. Etc.

I think people aggrandize “the good’ol days” and forget that season 1 had its share of flopping.
For one thing, the show was a lot more “loony tunes” type stuff back then - I really don’t like that, haha. I mean, I flippin’ love “Fall Weather Friends,” but their running knocking the trees off was kinda eh, as much as the fantasy elements are kinda cool, but what really got to me was the magic self-powered balloon a little bit, but mostly the cartoon shenanigans with using a sign to misguide a swarm of bees, getting into a fight that makes a tornado that tears a solid rock off a cliffside that they sled on, using sap as a slingshot cable, etc. etc…
I mean, really, S1 had a lot of great stuff, but IMO it wasn’t the best, not by a long shot. I think people who think the series is going downhill are really just getting tired of it. It’s like a spouse someone marries superficially and without commitment, people fall in love, get married, then they start to see all the little things that they used to overlook for the beauty - but they now are used to the beauty, and no longer see it, thus they start to see the flaws and fixate on them, and growing bitter and thinking ill from all the flaws, they forget the beauty, and start to leave the show, thinking the other has changed for the worst, when in reality, yes, the other has changed, but not in such a bad way… It’s they who’ve changed for the worst, in that they’ve become blind to the beauty in front of them, and have lost the commitment to kindle the flame of love within them…
Wow. That was a lot more poetic than I meant it to be :p

people don’t really hate him, but they like to sarcastically thank/blame him for making Twilight a Princess, and it became some sort of meme.
Though, everyone knows that he wasn’t aware MLP was going past season 3 at the time.
He also wrote the 100th episode.
But in the end, most people believe he’s one of the better writers since season 1.
Holy cow. Unless they got highly competent help in time, filly Rainbow probably fell to her death - Twilight accidentally mareslaughtered filly Rainbow Dash O.o
