Description
As much as I dislike the story and the character, it is kind of sad that so much of her art is…strange.
This is what I hated the most about that issue. It was supposed to show Luna and Spike interacting, but we hardly got any of that, they mostly went their separate ways.
You can do so many great things with these two characters, like how they both deal with their “outsider” status among the other ponies. It’s a shame it was used for what it was.

Actually the Luna issues don’t sell that well if you look at the numbers. She has the lowest selling Micro Series and the third lowest selling Friends forever (the one with Spike).
The Luna + Pinkie is the only FF issue with an unusual spike in sales, but that is a single data point.
We will have to wait for the sales of Discord + Luna to see if it is higher than average.
Yes, you can basically stick Luna on anything and it’d sell….annoyingly so.
As for this issue, I felt they used her as best they could.
Sell issues, I’d assume.
And I loved this issue. I don’t think there was much else for Luna to do really.
That and complaining at the police station is what I remember the most. It was really a Spike and Mina FF.

To make aspects of a real world allegory fit, a lot of weird character stuff had to be done. Hey, remember when the issue was supposed to be about Luna and Spike?

Everyone was just a caricature.
That was the police chief. He seemed like an alright guy, I’m talking about the other guy. You know, the guy who made it clear he didn’t like dragons at all. Oh yeah, that….And that proves she’s a terrible character and hypocritical because…?
From how it was represented, dragons really weren’t shown in much positive lights because, you know, stereotypes. Pretty simple.
Remember when she laughed about ponies bringing up the dragon Humdrum issue? Being blamed by ponies all the time was a victim complex. Ponies said they didn’t have problems with the community.
In fact, the biggest thing the police chief thought would happen was that Spike would come back and try to defend them not because of dragon pride or anything, but because he’d crush on Mina. So when Spike came back and tried to convince him because of the dragon victim complex they have in Dragontown or something, he thought he was smitten.
When? I seriously ask, when did that happen? They say they get blamed a lot by ponies, we see that some of the law enforcers are extremely prejudiced and are pushy against dragons. She didn’t blacklist the entire pony race. When did this happen? I read the comic thrice and watched Silver Quil’s review. When?
…which the dragons did when they said stuff that implied ponies always blamed them and laughed at them when they talked about their attempts to have a discussion with dragons?
Shrill mouthpiece? All she was saying is that you shouldn’t just judge a whole race by individuals.
But if they want to live near ponies, surely they can adopt some of the good stuff ponies do.
Ingrained preference for stone, like a cave? Like hobbits and their holes?
I’m not trying to convince you of anything. I’m just countering bad arguments.
Then why not build your houses of wood and hay? It’s easier to find and build.
Look, you’re never ever going to convince me the comic wasn’t garbage. I genuinely think it’s the 2nd worst thing the comics ever did.
On the dragontown architecture part, I thought we went over this: Spike has spent his entire life living in a tower or library filled with paper and he never managed to burn either down. I think that other dragons could manage it, as well.
I found her to be a shrill soapbox mouthpiece for her creator. But that’s just me.
Maybe Celestia gave them those homes as a show of peace to the dragonkind, or the dragons themselves chose it so they could integrate with the ponies and show them that dragons aren’t bad overall.
Honestly, I found Mina to be really likable and relate-able.
I’ll answer your question with another question, since my issue with Mina also is an issue with all of Dragontown: if they’re so great and brave and the like, why do they live in a pony city? Surely they could make their own city.
You’re dodging my original question: you said Mina is a hypocrite and/or delusional. Please prove it.
Hypocrisy means having a moral standard that does not conform to ones actions. To prove that Mina is a hypocrite, you must please tell me:
A. The moral standards, beliefs or opinions she has that do not conform to B.
B. The action or actions that do not conform to A.
Delusional means holding a belief despite either a complete lack of evidence, or strong evidence to the contrary. To prove that Mina is delusional (and, at the same time, prove that thinking she is delusional isn’t a delusion in itself), please tell me:
A. A strong belief she holds.
B. The strong evidence that this belief is false (or point out the lack of support for her belief)
