A picture commissioned by
This picture is based on a scene from Lionel23’s fanfic (it has not been published yet, so I can’t put a link here). The general premise is that the three princesses (Cadance, Celestia, Luna). Twilight Sparkle visits Knight Light and enters his forbidden library. She opens a book where a nightmare shadow comes out and puts her in a coma. While her life hangs in the balance, the Princesses have to visit locations that only they can reach, and reach quickly. Her friends stay behind to take care of Twilight (and those with magical powers like Rarity need to use their magic to stall the shadow from consuming Twilight’s mind in fear). Spike assists them as well as Chrysalis, but she was made to go pretty much against her will. They are visiting the Crimare (Crimea), a land of eternal shadows and darkness to see the Moonstone (a fallen, glowing asteroid) and gather its glow. Here they must fight sinister forces, e.g. the living water/mud.

Well… that was a tricky commission… Matching my vision with lionel’s imaginaton took quite a while. Luckily we’ve found a compromise
From new things I tried, I played with the light in the picture. I think it looks quite nice after all. And I drew Chrysalis for the first time.
