I don’t think that’s quite it. Rather, it seems Luna was already nervous of introducing her mate to her mother, which is no easy task I’ll tell you. Then she was caught of guard due to Derpy not only showing-up unanounced, but also role-playing. Alternatively, it seems Lauren’s visits are quite short more often than not so, maybe Luna just wanted to enjoy her mother’s company as much as she could before time was up.
Honestly I’ve never really gotten the idea that these comics are some allegory for JJ to talk to LF through. It’s just silly non-canon nonsense. And didn’t he meet her for real at a con once? So wouldn’t it be weird for him to be communicating with her through his art if they’ve already met?
This premise just seems so weird.
It’s like some fanboy trying to talk to Lauren Faust about clopfic/art.
