That doesn´t speak for you.
@Itsthinking
She deserved better. She deserved a second chance.
@Background Pony #D981
She just got carried away.
@LightningBolt
Exactly.
@ExistenceNull
This.
Why were civilian entering a military controlled area without going through any channels? In a hot air balloon of all things? Wouldn’t there be an airship for visitors or something?
Every single one of them was at fault, plus, once again, a lack of backstory gives us no idea why her ego and personality would be like that.
I’m neutral to her character, but I hated the way it was handled. Plus, she acted exactly like Dash would if she wasn’t the bucking Element of Loyalty.
They may have been friendly, but they weren’t exactly friends. Rainbow Dash didn’t know LD well enough to know if she had a mental disease, and Lightning Dust didn’t know RD well enough to accept her help.

We saw that the Wonderbolts do more stuff than only flying. The training is military style, and endagering civilians life is a very serious thing in Military.
What’s the point of being an ace flier if she can’t control herself. Spitfire tore off the symbol of her uniform and she was accompanied by two guards.
IMO, she was kicked really. Nobody would ever trust her, abd by her personality, she would rather leave the wonderbolts by being submissive to RD.
TL;DR In my headcanon, she was kicked out because I’m edgy, and the show will never let it clear.
Don’t worry, she will return in Season 5.
That is true, we don’t know. I am assuming she was, but my assumptions are not something to go by, ever.
@Slayer
Maybe not, but it’s not in their place to decide. That would be the commander-in-chief. If somepony, say, Cloudchaser, was commanded to stick with Dust in her team as a Wingpony, she would have to oblige, I believe.
It wouldn’t be enough to knock Dust’s ego down a few steps, but starting somewhere is better than never starting at all. Better to try and correct the Ace flier in the team than to abandon her entirely. IF she was abandoned at all, that is.
Why not make her someone else’s Wingpony instead
Do you honestly think that anypony in her class would want to be associated with her after what she pulled?
The first thing would be Spitfire herself and the way she defended her reasoning behind having Dash as a Wingpony instead of the leader of their group. While I understand very well her need not to play favorites as a “Drill Sergeant” as it were, there are better ways to justify with words your choices than to merely ask if Dash has a problem with her decision. Somehow, it sounded like Dash asked a question that could be answered very well by just saying that “Spitfire is testing you as a team, not individually.” As in, “I had to make a compromise, and seeing how Dust pushed herself slightly further than you did, I chose this.”
Another small issue is how Dust was stripped down, possibly from the academy itself. That is a terrible decision from Spitfire’s part. I agree that being reckless and not caring about others to achieve your goals is not “Wonderbolt Material”, Dust is STILL a very competent flier and she proved herself to have the necessary skill to be one. So, why not actually teach her “the ways”, as it were? She had problems, but isn’t guiding their students to the right path something a teacher should do? Demoting her from Leader status was a good idea, but kicking her out? Why not make her someone else’s Wingpony instead, and teach her not to be a sociopath from there onwards? That way, you wouldn’t lose such great potential.
I thought about this and some also pointed it out, they might have lost a really competent flier to the Shadowbolts as it is. We know not if the Shadowbolts are a real thing, but as far as information goes, we have no reason to believe they don’t.
Still a great and fun addition to the series, but with a slight bump on its road that I felt necessary to discuss. Not something I do very often, I say.
@StarrySkies
Did you get a professional diagnosis for that?
Welcome to being a pre-s03e05 Trixie fan. After e05, liking/sympathizing with her is “normal”, before then it’s “but she’s a prick, thus EVIL”.
Bleh, black and white sucks.
The game was cool, though.
People need to realize that sure she nearly killed some ponies, but being a sociopath is a mental disease that something only friends and family can help build up the strength to break those chains. :c
I know a sociopath.
And you know how I know the life of a sociopath?
BECAUSE I USE TO BE A SOCIOPATH!
May be this is why I pity her the most… But I use to be a prick, and as sappy as it may sound, but what made me realize who I was and what I was doing… Was the closure of my friends. They sat down with me, they helped me in every way they could. I couldn’t see it at first, maybe because I refused to at the time, but as time passed by with their help I’ve began to feel happier, more open, and so on.
This is why I was so mad at the end of the episode, RD and LD were starting to becoming friends there, but RD could have helped her. Whose really the failure here? A pony who can’t control themselves, or a pony who has the strength to help others - but doesn’t?
Yes! This!
It’ll break my heart for now on when Dusty art is posted, especially pictures of her being all sad n’stuff.
Yeah she’s a sociopath
Not like she wakes up every day going I THINK I’M GONNA BE A SOCIOPATH TODAY :D
This is a serious mental problem and she needs a friend to help shape up her attitude.
It’s ironic how true that is to many things about me.
