Twilight poured her heart and soul into her words, trying to convince the evil version of Celestia to stop.
The evil Celestia just laughed at the corniness and proceeded, slowly, to turn Twilight into yet another addition to her statue garden…

That makes sense…. Celestia’s worst fear probably is losing control or going mad and turning on those she loves. After all, Luna became Nightmare Moon, so the fear of becoming corrupt is not entirely unfounded.
That, or losing her bookmark.
