Star- “Look mama I’m flying!”
 
Twilight- Laughs, “Yeah hun, you are!”
 
Flash- Smiles and turns his head to look at his son. “Like his father never will.”
 
Twilight- Turns to her husband, “Like is mother never could.”
 
Flash- “Your a great flyer.”
 
Twilight- “Ha! If only.” Turns back to Star, “But I have a feeling he will be.”
 

 
In my Next Gen universe, Flash Sentry originally joined the guard to become disciplined. He joined and he ended up loving it. (I also like to believe his human counterpart joined the military.)  
He slowly but surly climbed the ranks and became the captain of Twilight’s guard after being transferred from the Crystal Empire when he married Twilight. But there is a sad twist, Flash dies during a battle with some rebellious dragons. It was when Shooting Star was young.
 
This is before Flash died, when they were just a happy family helping their youngest son learn to fly.
