Well, I thought he was technically king, at least of that area. Considering Dainn rules Equestria now… maybe it was from one fic I read that wasn’t canon, but still. I mean, even if I doubt this universe holds any surprises (like why the princesses would even still be that, with no one seemingly above them, instead of being called queens now from Dainn being called king, etc), it still doesn’t explain why those on lesser roles from before the Fall (prince and princess versus king and queen) are still that. Mainly, the ‘princess’ thing, I can understand princes showing their lowerness to Dainn being king, perhaps. Plus, I doubt many would even think about things from ‘the way they used to be pre-Fall’, even if some of the Crystal Empire is resistant like other ponies in Equestria. But if you speak from knowing it, as you sound like… at least about Shining’s status, then I’ll take that on faith.
 
I didn’t really consider some of your other pics non-background, even if they’re mostly just one color/small things behind the character(s), but some do have additions to them? Such as previous ones with Princess Cadence and Skyla, but I guess you don’t consider those backgrounds?

If that was intended for me… he meaning Shining Armor? Because Dainn seems unlikely to give someone else’s ‘property’ privileges like that, even if he makes the laws now. As Dainn is the one who rules Equestria as of now… Shining just rules over the Crystal Empire. You kind of lost your clarity at the end, using “he” the whole time instead of names or saying “the Crystal Empire” if again, you meant Shining.
 
Well, dunno if that means they go back to their own country for stuff still, even if they should’ve brought it all over in their initial coming, to execute overtaking Equestria unless they couldn’t for why it took a while in hiding and only on specific towns/areas before going to Canterlot. If it wasn’t by plans to do it in secret and slowly.
 
And well, I guess we don’t really need a name, even if you have a point. As by forcing themselves into Equestria, they made it their home. I doubt NCN will pull a ‘same thing’ happening to Equestria with an increase in population, even if most of the population is no better than slaves themselves (even the males) and we never see how things turn out several years/decades down the line? Depending on how long this setting even lasts… based on how long the show continues or before THIS gets stale, maybe. If at all…

Ah, are you Poprocks or one of the other authors of incomplete canon stories? I doubt you’re Schorl, if not a newbie to the Fall ones… but dunno why the ‘anonymous’ comment. And Sunny Light (now Silent Dream) once replied to me in the same manner of anonymous, but I can’t find that comment if the pic was deleted (as several pics of this series were in the last week or two). Just wondering, but you don’t have to admit your ‘secret identity’. :P

Heh, don’t worry, I plan to reveal little bits here and there about it. It’s quite the story of how the caribou came to Equestria, and why.

They were married before their, er, “awakening”? lol, so he gives her special permissions to use on her peers. He can because he became the new leader of Equestria.
 
Noting that all marraiges in Equestria were nullified and retitled as ownership statuses. Plus, the caribou are still just liasons between Equestria and their dying country which has still not been name for two bloody years. XD

Nah, she’s still a princess. “Princess” just means something a little different now. And Shining is still a Prince. He rules his territory, but calling himself “king” could be… diplomatically problematic. Plus the title’s avoided due to their last king going all crysssstallls on them.
 
Rarity belongs to Shining, of course–he just gives Cadance the privilege of using her when he’s not.

Well, TECHNICALLY speaking in this setting, she’s NOT a princess anymore, just the prized slave of the Crystal Empire King. And also, if Shining was king, that would upgrade Cadence to his queen then… if not for the whole misogyny/female slavery thing. But I thought from the latest chapter of the canon fic Bruised Apples, it was established Rarity was bought as Shining Armor’s personal slave, not that she is only or also the lady-in-waiting to the former princess/slave of a king. Though this pic and the story in question does show how far Rarity’s fallen sadly from her initial desires to be a stunning dressmaker for high society, which changed to a slave to high society, and then to this. :( And that she’s not happy about it, deep inside, even if she is a red.
 
Though I doubt her break will be in the liberation of the Fall, if there’s no plans to end it sometime down the line canonically, years or decades (centuries?) later (not in real-time, but I mean in universe time). Or you even meant that… I do like the Fall in a sense, even if I’m more of a fan of happy stuff/endings, but I’ve read my share of stuff besides this that doesn’t as well.
 
As for the pic, outstanding work btw! Even if the background is a bit simplistic maybe, as opposed to the rest of the pic. It’s been a while maybe since I saw anything featuring Rarity as a cow, which I do enjoy even if I can’t recall how it started, if I once learned to begin with.

Rarity’s actually managed to get herself into a pretty good position here: being lady-in-waiting for a princess is nothing to scoff at!  
Keeping that job means putting up with a little good-natured teasing from Cadance and her friends, as well as indulging their rather fickle whims.

She works at trying to please her betters, but often fails for very little reasons. Which while minuscule are enough to send her to the guard barracks for a little, er, gang rape. Her usual charm and tact do nothing apparently, and she thinks she’s too good to be horribly raped and beaten, which is a mistake the consequences of she experiences often. :D

My guess is that they know she’s not a truely eager red collar at heart and find her attempt to charm her way to the top pathetic, so they make a game of letting her get just a taste while also kicking her down again and again until she really converts.

If there’s one thing I don’t get is, why does Rarity get such flack? She’s a Red, normally she doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment…
