In the first Justice League cartoon (the one actually named ‘Justice League’, not ‘SuperFriends’), they only had the one Javelin-7, since there were only the seven of them, and most of their members could fly. In Justice League Unlimited, however, they have multiple Javelins.
Do they only have the one? I thought the Javelin was sort of the JLA equivalent of the Quinjets.
(Double-checks to be sure) Yeah.
Edit: Actually, the original spaceship, the Javelin-7 was silver, but the successor, merely named the ‘Javelin’, for reasons unknown, was either black or a dark shade of blue.
Edited
Oh, in that case, no problem. As long as Optimus has a red chest and blue legs in bot mode, I can see lots of silver to sell the Javelin’s colour scheme.
The Javelin was silver, right?
Yes, actually.
Along with the Megatron who was obviously Blitzwing.
Cause I was thinking of the recent one that was obviously going to turn into Octane.
Edited
Flying configurations, sure, but not the primary alt-mode itself. Cybertron Optimus was primarily a fire truck and Optimus Primal’s primary alt-modes were gorillas. My understanding of your suggestion is that Optimus’ primary alt-mode be the javelin.
Unless you’re suggesting that the Javelin mode is a third form like @Darth Prime suggested.
…Maybe a truck the size of an Elephant (the giant vehicle from the Halo series; not the actual animal), at least…or perhaps the Mammoth (Halo 5), if that’s not big enough.
@WM-R
Transformers Cybertron!Optimus Prime and Transmetal!Optimus Primal had flying configurations for their alt-modes, and Terry himself has made two variations of Optimus with flying alt-modes.
Edit: Optimal Optimus had a flying alt-mode too.
Edited because: Addendum
Fair enough.
Only if he’s a triple-changer with a truck mode still.
I’m having trouble seeing it. Star Saber, sure, but I generally don’t associate Optimus with a flying alt-mode.
@Darth Sonic
Well, in-universe he wasn’t able to rally people to help power that Spirit Bomb that put down Kid Buu. Out of universe, yeah, he probably trumps Optimus in terms of popularity. But I chalk that to him basically always being shoved to the forefront of things and getting power-up after power-up, rather than him actually being a good character.
Thumbs up.
@Darth Prime
Not what I meant.
And he certainly wouldn’t act like a self-righteous douchebag when someone decides that the best way to defeat a more powerful enemy is to gang up on them.
And he won’t let the universe die just for a tougher fight.
I dunno, I think Optimus has the more trustworthy voice.
Much as I hate to admit it, I’m pretty sure Goku is more popular with the kids.
I think it depends on who the children believe in the most.
During a fight with Majin Buu, Goku fired a Kamehameha that apparently wrecked 10% of Earth. Unless he gets boosted up to Thirteen-level power, I don’t think any amount of Burning Justice is gonna help Optimus win that fight.
Wait, can you even summon Burning Justice against people who are also heroic?
>I’m not going to argue that Optimus could possible stand up to Goku, Superman or Wonder Woman (not unless he seriously dips into the power of the Matrix or something)
Two words: Burning Justice.
Fair enough.
I think that’s not exactly normal, though. Lex is obviously gunning for Superman’s head no matter what, and Cadmus had a reasonable idea (having what is effectively a superhuman army floating over your heads with little to no oversight is a bit worrying).
When I meant political stuff, I was thinking more around the lines of dull everyday diplomacy like in the old Transformers cartoon where a couple of Autobots attending the unveiling of a statue in Optimus’ honour, or how in the final season Rodimus Prime helped organise a galactic Olympics as well as hosted peace talks between some warring aliens. Not really the kind of thing the Justice League is generally equipped for, you know?
Yeah, and Lexy.
