Why does this pic extremely remind me a lot to Smile HD? Even the one with the beach pic from two years ago gives off that vibe. Mmh, Smile HD: Beach Version?

@Background Pony #BF52, please re-read the comment from @Antonyourknee. If you had simply said “I wish Spike were in this picture”, I’d agree with you. If you’d said you were downvoting this pic because it didn’t have Spike, I’d think you were being a bit obsessed but wouldn’t bother replying. But you were saying other fans shouldn’t like a pic because it didn’t have Spike, and if you can’t see what’s wrong with that, then you’re part of the problem.

Not trying to start any drama at all, you guys are the ones acting up. I’m just saying what I think about the pic: it perpetuates the trend that Spike is not part of any group of friends. The annoyance you probably feel when a Spike fan complains is exactly the same annoyance I feel when I see pics like this and those other 8,871. Seeing the mane six without Spike is literally the only thing in the whole damn fandom that makes my day a little worse.

You want this fine piece of art to get more negative vote simply because the artist didn’t include another character…I get that you want spike to get more representation but negative votes should be reserved for things that in my opinion are a little more…brazenly wrong or something.  
Also I’m sure actual dragon kids have a lot worse childhoods than spike after all just compare him to the natural raised teenage dragons.

Spike and Twilight’s relationship is too ambiguous to pin as “adopted mother”. If she’s his legal guardian at all, then every authority figure who had anything to do with Twilight after her entrance exam is frighteningly negligent, and it’s a fucking miracle that Spike grew up healthy and undamaged.
 
I don’t hate the picture (much), but I do hate that it had two-fucking-hundred yay’s to only one neigh. It deserves at least ten more neighs.

The CMC seem reasonably close to his age, actually. His interactions with them were arguably the highlight of “Just for Sidekicks”, and provided some nice scenes for “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils” and “Equestria Games”.
