Her role looked pretty damn important in the finale I tell ya h’what. In most all episodes actually. Maybe your criteria for what makes a princess is biased by the stereotype that befalls the title?
 
I’m sure some have brought up the concept that Twilight actually used alicorn magic to a) hatch spike and b) use the EoH against NMM in the series opener and against Discord in the season 2 opener, but now seeing those same telltale signs when Celesstia, Luna and Cadence were tapping their alicorn magic to transfer it to Twilight, it can be said that having the magic of the princesses at a young age revealed to Celestia that she was destined to become one.

Twilight, you mentioned how Cadanced had the Crystal Empire. You do know what she was doing as a princess before that? Foalsitting you was one. Then there was the time before that…. lets just say Cadance had a long wait before she had a real role as a princess.

Sorry guys, I didn’t mean to start stuff. I guess I was talking without thinking well. Well, yeah. You two are right. She hasn’t done much since being a princess, I think we’ll just have to wait and see what writers do with her. That’s what I meant, friends. It gives her a bit more room to grow as a character, being royalty and all. But we’ll just have to wait and see if that happens… Gosh, I hope it does. Sorry for the late reply.

With her element being magic I was looking forward to her becoming a powerful mage like Starswirl, not the princess of a concept with nothing to do. Being a mage makes way for a lot of great adventure. Being a princess of friendship ain’t shit because it’s already way too OP.

What do you mean she deserved it? Why make her a princess when she didn’t have any… princessy things to do? Her purpose was literally just looking pretty.

Easy–Twily deserved it. I saw her becoming alicorn since the 1st season. I’m great with our new princess, and I don’t think hasbro did it for mostly money, as much as the writers wanted to have twily grow as a character… Equestria girls is a different story. I think it’s a good character development for her and she’s still our adorkable Twilight we all know and love! 💜 Sorry for my bad english. Icelandic is my primary language
