At least 4chan admits they hate anyone who is autistic because they don’t see them as equals, but people who are biologically screwed and should stop trying to interact in the mainstream.
@Zennistrad
They have a decreased ability to understand social cues. You can tell them not to act like that, but they’re not going to understand why and feel strange when they can’t be like that.
And as we all know, making socially awkward feel even more outcast is good for all of us and has no negative influence.
I’ve never called anyone “disgusting”. All I’ve said is that they need to be told when they’re doing something that upsets or disturbs other people.You can’t ever expect anyone to learn if you don’t tell them what they’re doing wrong.
@Itsthinking
Unfortunately for 4Chan and Tumblr,autism is synonym with Chris-Chan.Because they’re too lazy making extensive research about it.Or dispaying empathy.
@Zennistrad
They can’t help it. You can tell them, but stop treating their mistakes like they know what they’re doing. A genuinely autistic person telling a disgusting joke cannot be treated like a non-autistic.
And you can’t say that these people aren’t disgusting for making these jokes because they have to feel better about themselves.
Oh, I know. But I still recognize that people should at least try to pick up on the way they act and how it affects other people.
I know this guy I hang out with regularly in the student center, who I’m pretty sure has a mild case of autism. He’s a very friendly guy overall, but he has a tendency to make these disgusting jokes that make everyone else squirm. We’ve tried to make it clear to him that no, you can’t say these things in polite company, and while he is getting better, he still needs to learn personal boundaries.
I’m not condoning the use of “autistic” as an insult, like the way 4chan uses it, but people with autism do need people to tell them when they’re doing something that makes other people uncomfortable.
