That’s what I mean; there are still a lot of grebnaks out there who are so balled up with hatred for EqG that they’re screaming at Meghan McCarthy and spontaneously self-combusting over a visual gag put in by a storyboarder.

It’s a long reach betwen “(shown long after the fact to be) incorrect” and “lied”. Saying that she has “egg all over her face now” after someone over whom she has no direct control or supervision tossed Cardboard McCutout into a scene months after her tweet is like saying a guy should be embarrassed for claiming he didn’t have any alcohol in the house a month ago but yesterday someone snuck up and tossed some beer in the window. McCarthy is the Story Editor; she’s in a position to know ahead of time whether a character appears in the story or not, but isn’t responsible for who or what appears in unscripted areas of the animation.
