You’re confusing Meghan with Jayson Thiessen. Anything that happens after the scripting stage is out of Meghan’s hands - and often not even known to her until much later.

Of course, but that doesn’t mean it was her idea. And as I said, it may not have been animated or in the show when she tweeted this. It may have even been something the animators added, rather than the board artists, making it harder to remove, especially if it was already animated. If that was the case, she probably wouldn’t have called for it to be edited it out at that point. Would she at do the same now as she did when this ep was being made? Who knows…

So what does that make Jayson Thiessen then? Last I checked, he was the director.

The difference between Derpy’s and Flash’s appearance is that Derpy was planned in advance and deliberately written into the script (even if she got no dialogue), whereas Flash was in all probability just a humorous continuity nod, added either by the storyboarders or the layout artists.
 
Personally, I thought it was funny.

EQG made hasbro many money’s and expanded the genre and lore of the show immensely,while a sequel might be very…a very unknown factor ,in the end it’s production was brilliant.

They did move past it, but its not like it somehow un-happened because we the small periphery demographic don’t care for it. It was near as I can tell a big hit with those it was intended for. Moved a lot of toys and Hasbro had a good year.

Seeing as how the toys are on the shelves, another movie has been confirmed, and it hasn’t even been a year since the franchise was launched, I’m quite curious as to why you think Hasbro had moved past it.

Also, here’s where she confirms it was because of the visual department, not the writers.

Yeah, except that this was a totally visual thing, and obviously never in the script, so it doesn’t even matter. When Meghan said that, the episode may have not even been fully animated yet, so she didn’t know he would show up. Or, she said that because he’s hardly even a character, he’s pretty much just…there. As far as I’m concerned, he’s just another random guard, and doesn’t have anything to do with anything, and certainly doesn’t ‘confirm’ anything.
 
It does frustrate me that they would put him in, seeing as I was hoping we could just move past the whole Equestria Girls thing (silly me!), but who cares.

Hahaha, perhaps she did so to stop the constant bitching about EqG. Either way this is funny.

The reaction would have been the same if she made a small little cameo. Background characters are still characters. That’s why they are called background characters. Flash was a character in the episode, whether anybody likes it or not.

Seriously it should be utterly obvious the intent of “not a character” is that Flash Sentry as Twilight’s maybe boytoy would not be a plotline within Season 4.
 
And this is still true.
 
Counting a mere cameo might be literally true for that… but it misses entirely the greater truth. Its is as limiting an intolerant as it is pathetic.

Yes, Brad was the name of him before he was known as Flash AND before we knew there was a pony version of him.  
So as I said, the HUMAN.

He’d be more tolerable if he actually looked like EVERY OTHER Royal Guard instead of being a special snowflake. It just seems weird to see a hundred identical guys and then this one orange pimple sticking out, seemingly totally unaware of how out of place he is.

She says that another staff member snuck him in to the episode.  
And who cares he just in the back ground.

I’m always happy when continuity is shown.
