Again, didn’t play that game, can’t say anything about that.

But no, Chrysalis gave me the vibe that she actually loves the way she gets to feed herself, she actually loves the pain and chaos she sows, and if she could feed in any other way, she’d still do it.
A lion doesn’t eat a Gazelle thinking “YES! BLEED TO DEATH YOU INSUFFERABLE LITTLE THING! SUFFER!”, a lion just fucking eats a Gazelle and moves away.

It’s really not.

The only added context is that she’s fed up with the CMC’s antics.

Except in Wind Waker he’s… not

The number of people Ganon has caused pain to directly or indirectly can be counted on your fingers and toes.

And by that logic ANY predator is evil.

And most corporate bosses and lawyers. (dohohoho)

And I’m not saying that needing to feed on other ponies is evil, I’m saying that she’s evil because she’s vindictive, sadistic, and cruel.
And no, I never saw any hint that revenge is a good thing in any Zelda games I’ve played, wanting to stop the bad guy isn’t revenge, it’s revenge if you’re trying to get him because he did something bad to you.
It also helps that the bad guy is responsible for the suffering of thousands of people.

I’m not saying she’s not evil.

I’m just saying her being vengeful and needing love to survive doesn’t MAKE her evil.

Not the feeding her people part. The part that she NEEDS TO FEED OFF ponies to survive! If you found a way to keep yourself entertained and fed for your entire life, I’m pretty sure you’d take it!

And moreover, why can’t you just get over that your favorite character is a villain? Both the show and the comics portray her as evil as possible, and this is a kid’s show, they’re not going to toss complex moral dilemmas in it.
Seriously, just get over it, My favorite Sonic character is Eggman and I don’t make up arguments of why he’s actually a good guy.

It’s not my fault you haven’t played them and I have no way of knowing that. My point still stands that it puts blind revenge in a positive light in the games. And that’s LIMITING me to Zelda.

Don’t get me started on games with higher ESRB ratings.

I’d really appreciate if you stopped using examples from games I didn’t play yet (and worse, WANT to play), to prove your point, so that I can’t properly debate.

I looked over it without that. It’s still the same. You can’t remove an important fact about her character and claim a valid a point.

Armogohma is no longer a threat in the second stage. There is NO reason for Link to kill it, but you do. And you’re rewarded for it.

Also pretty much ALL of Wind Waker after you save Aryll counts as Ganon HIMSELF points out that if Link did nothing he never would have gotten the triforce, so Link was basically acting in blind revenge. Oh and the game AGAIN rewards you for acting like this.

Also, I said to mentally remove the “feeding my people” bit, and forget that she wants that, watch the episode as if that line never existed.

First, it’s a videogame, you’re supposed to kill things in order to proceed.
Second, it’s legitimate self defense, the monsters attack you first, you have the right to defend yourself.
Third, the Like-Like takes Link’s shield, Link NEEDS that shield or he’ll get his ass kicked.
Fourth, I didn’t play Twilight Princess, Wii controls suck too hard, but same thing: Self-defense, if they could just let me through without a fight, I’d gladly spare their lives, but no.
Fifth, that is still not a positive representation of revenge.

Still don’t see it, I see a predator seeking food. Completely natural.

How about the MASSIVE amount of enemies that you hunt down and kill for next to no reason? And the murdering of Like-Like’s who are simply trying to eat metal, and your shield just happens to be part of its diet? Or even one of the BOSSES in Twilight Princess counts. Poor Armogohma second stage….

Speaking of Chrysalis not caring about her people, I’d give anything to see Chrysalis snap in the comics, and proclaim she doesn’t care about her people, and that “It’s all about [her]!!”

  1. I could see, but I saw no elements on screen that supported Chrysalis being a good person for her people. In fact, the whole “feeding my people” seems like an afterthought.
Wanna proof? Mentally remove her “feed my people” line, see if that changes anything,

2.Sir, I played several Legend of Zelda games, and in none of them I saw a positive representation of revenge.

Mythological Gods are a BAD example, their people never portrayed them as paragons of good and sunshine, they were portrayed more as providers, providers who could royally wreck your shit if you didn’t please them.
And I dare you to find one example where angrily seeking revenge because somepony exercised legitimate self-defense on you was portrayed as a good thing.

That doesn’t make her evil either. Plenty of “good” characters have been vengeful in all sorts of media.

Mythological gods are a great example.
