Nope. That was actually done by a completely different company using early sketches of the characters. That is why the ad designs and the promo/final character designs look drastically different. Personally, it looks like Boulder borrowed heavily from Littlest Pet Shop’s animation designs, and so it might be that Pony Life will have similar animation.  
But yeah, the ad was not even close to representative of the final animation.

Exactly. At this point, the hate on the show is becoming an echo chamber, where the same arguments just circle no matter how absurd they are.  
Plus, and we gotta stress this, we have seen no animation for the show. We do not know what it will look like.

Yeah, they’re already stressing that the show takes place at the Sugarcube Corner. Otherwise they would’ve just said it was taking place in Ponyville.

This is obviously gonna be limited cast - limited scenery/place show. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s gonna be Negative Continuity between episodes.

I think criticizing its appearance is perfectly legitimate seeing as how cartoons are a visual medium. And visually they traded the FiM’s unique art style for what looks like a fusion of Teen Titans Go! and those generic, “wacky” farting unicorn designs that started appearing after FiM became popular:

No, but for someone to say its an abomination without even having the access to watch it yet is being disingenuous. A show could look bad but be written well. Don’t judge a book by its cover is all I’m saying.
 
If you don’t want to watch it, thats fine. Don’t go saying a thing like that is bad by how it looks is a fact. After all, some people may like the style.

Exactly. My guess is if this is a full series, we just havent seen them yet. If it is a short series like EQG, it would surprise me if any secondary character got a big focus for the first season.

I dont think they did, TBH. The princesses are not the face of MLP, the Mane 6 are.

I’m not really expecting too many other characters to make an appearance.

People can absolutely judge whether something is worth their time. There just isn’t enough time in the world to give absolutely everything a chance. I think if people aren’t feeling eager excitement immediately about a thing, let them be. Your comment is a bit passive-aggressive; it doesn’t make people change their minds, and it tends to annoy others.
 
For instance, I was “meh” on STX Entertainment’s “Ugly Dolls”. Still not interested. If people tried to push too hard, I’d end up resisting harder.
 
So, if people aren’t interested or are turned off by a thing, let them be. They’re really not harming you at all.
