Lyrabon has been a thing since like, season 2 or something. It’s very popular.  
Scoots aunts came out of nowhere nearly a decade into the show and deconfirmed a popular headcanon  
That’s why people care more about this and less about that.

Eeh, scoots aunts were confirmed in the show, but veeeery subtly. If one didn’t know about them being gay, the viewer would have to take apart the dialogue to recognize their proper relationship.

To be fair, I think the book where Scootaloo’s aunts first appeared did come out years ago. It’s just Lyra and Bon Bon had more years and more teasing since they’ve been with us longer.

They were seen proposing to eachother, then seen in a wedding coach next to the text “Lyra + BonBon” and hearts, THEN seen as an older couple walking together.  
But nah, obviously they’re just gals being pals. Nothing gay here. Just friends. Yup.

Except this isn’t like the case with Berry Punch possibly being an alcoholic where we didn’t see her be a total alcoholic on screen. But we have seen the Lyra and Bon Bon propose and they have a picture of their marriage on screen. It’s as canon as Scootaloo not being an orphan.

It was more of an argument against Occam’s Razor not Lyrabon.
 
I can see that they’re together and in a way accept it, but can also see potential routes or explanations if not specified and by that I mean brought to attenuation.
 
For example, it was a wildly believed head canon that Scootaloo was an orphan, I even wrote a fanfic about it with Scootaloo’s parents with names, but once they showed up, I included the tag alt universe because it was brought up into the foreground.
 
Now another popular head canon is that berry punch is an alcoholic, but since it hasn’t been brought up in the foreground it can neither be true or false.
 
Long explanation short I live my life and see things in fiction based on Schrödinger’s cat.
 
But I never try and push that view on anyone, I just try to explain it so we can shake hands and maybe have a drink.
 
I live my life loving everyone as people, even if I did agree with their views.
 
I know to some this may be a TL;DR comment and that’s ok. I just hope you and I can still be on a good note.

I’m a Christian too and I’m pro-LGBT rights.
 
The finale shows a picture of their wedding in a newspaper and the two of them are still seen together as a couple in the time skip. They’re a married couple. There’s no need to be in denial about it or try to bend backwards like it didn’t happen. It happened.

but do remember life is not always so simple, the simplest explanation can also be the wrong one.
 
Life is not all black and white, for there can be many angles to one picture.
 
I’m not trying to get you to see my view by all means, this argument is more against Occam’s Razor. Because I think I’ve use think the simple explanation was right, and I turned out to be wrong
