Well, given all that info is from unconfirmed and contradicted leaks, I would say take that info with a few grains of salt. I just happen to like G5 as a concept. Doesnt mean it is real.

Twilight’s gone into full God-Jesus-Queen of Everything form. Her friends have all visibly grown old while she hasn’t aged at all, just turned into a purple Celestia. Celestia and Luna are over 1,100 years old.

Well gee, I dunno, Hasbro sure seems intent on selling the same characters but with slight differences (or in specifiocally Applejack’s case, massive unnecessary differences) when G5 comes along, nice bit of manipulation of the kiddos fresh off of G4 and all.

Someone needs to get side by sides of all the foals who are grown up now.

Pretty sure DHX really just meant the finale as the culmination of G4, rather than the solid end to it.

FIM in other media pretty much has to use the show as their bible. It was understood from the get go that everything was canon unless events in the show at some point would contradict it. Other media sources can do some minor retconning as long as the changes aren’t drastic, but the show’s finale is set in stone. Everything other media does now will have to make sure they don’t contradict the timeskip.

So far, nothing G4 coming up seems to be taking place after the time skip. Even the leaked series is about stuff that takes place before the big skip.

I don’t think anything is getting retconned. Pretty sure G5 is going to be it’s own thing. It wont’t be overnight but we will start to see G4 merch being phased out for G5 merch.

Hasbro hired her to create a show for an IP they own. She never would have done FIM otherwise. She was trying to sell an original IP at the time.

I think because this crew isn’t really going be to deciding what is canon now. Really, we have to wait for whatever is coming next. My guess is that it will get retconned because it is kinda hard to sell “old six” toys.

Hearing about the end of mlp fim and now bronycon its just way too much I started crying like really crying.I want to cry even more and louder the time Im at now isnt the best to do so because everyone else is sleeping.Was it too much to ask for me to go to bronycon even one time?But now I will never get the chance to experience that.All the happiness in my life was just drained off of me by the news of mlp fim ending and bronycon never openning its doors again.Its just so sad that I never got to experience the love and happyness of bronycon.And with the end of the show my life is even worse right now it will never go back to the way it was.Everything in g5 will change the directors,the writters,the animators all gone they will all be replaced just like that.The show I loved will never be the same again after this not by a long shot.They are just going to ruin everything.Seriously I really want to cry I want to get all those tears out but I cant.I want my crying to last for a long time just to ease up the huge pain and that huge hole in my heart.

Well fuck now I just learned that BronyCon is stopping forever FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!Why is this going all to shit like that.I never even went to a bronycon convention and now I never will [cries really hard] its just not fair this year was the last one.Why why why this is just so cruel.Everything thats mlp related gets shut down WHY!!!I wanted to go even one time why does the world choose to be so cruel to me

I get ya. That would have been a legitimate way to go, but whatever comes next basically be different from FiM in name only. I use the IDW app. They do cost money of course, but they are really cheap compared to the seasons, and IDW has the complete library.  
Basically, if the show never changes, it would become relatively stale. By changing, they can continue to give us new stories, and with a much more polished animation. Plus, going to Boulder let’s Hasbro create more shows like FiM, which let’s us enjoy more good stuff. But, if we suddenly saw FiM change, people would not be happy because it would not feel the same. By letting the show end at 9 seasons, then have comics, a new series, and movies carry on FiM, it keeps the majority of people as happy as they can, while helping them continue to make a profit so they can keep making more good content.  
Lauren Faust did only create G4, and she did leave after the first season, btw.
