Its most likely that the specials and little videos would be made after the Show ended until the G5 is introduced. Dont expect another traditional 22 minutes 26 episodes per season, though.

no, g5 is coming. It’s hasbro’s decision, not ours. you cant keep things the same forever, no matter how hard you bargain for it.
we forget that these are littler more than promotional material or commercials to advertise their toys. ike other cartoons based on toy lines such as transformers.

The article itself says that basically what happened is that DHX is no longer producing EQG, and is not being kept in the loop by Hasbro about what is happening next.
Most likely, Boulder will be doing EQG from now on, since they have already been working on EQG content, and DHX was not told that the series was ending, unlike with FiM. But, DHX won’t know about it, since they are no longer in business with Hasbro.
If the series was ending, we would get a big conclusion.
Instead, Spring Breakdown build a new plot point of the humane 7 becoming super heroes.
So, EQG isnt finished.
Anyone remember the ending of Legend of Everfree? - Where some magic came out of the portal near CHS.
I guess we will not see the fifth movie.

Actually, since DHX has said that the G5 leaks are not accurate, and since Hasbro has not confirmed any of the leaks about G5, the 2021 movie is not confirmed to be G5. It is rumored by the leaks to be G5.
The investors who got the early pitch of the movie earlier this year though have the understanding that the movie is still G4.
Makes sense, since G4 is not based off FiM, but FiM is actually based off G4. The show can absolutely end while G4 keeps going.
@UserAccount Here’s the latest news I could find. It says its not a sequel, but a standalone film. Although even that’s quite vague. The James Bond movies have little to do with one another, doesn’t mean they aren’t part of the same series though.
Well EQG hasn’t been good since the fourth movie and after that there was those horrible new costume designs by some so called “fashion designer” and don’t even get me started on those creepy new dolls. So all in all I really don’t mind that EQG is finally coming to an end.

There were lots of different rumors about what it’d be when we were first getting news about it, but I’m pretty sure it’s been confirmed since that it’s just a fully G5 movie.
