Okay… but that seems to be completely unrelated to the beard… That’s like me wearing a business suit, someone commenting on how it’s such a nice business suit, and it fits me well, and boy do I look spiffy-
 
And then me talking about why I buy expensive suits because my eyes don’t enjoy the color seafoam green.
 
I still fail to see your connection with rights, health, and beards. I don’t think it’s such a good conversation starter, and it would definitely put me off if you were to use it with me.
 
But I do think both of those topics are important, just in other situations.

It’s simple, letting it grow out ragged for a month is a good conversation starter and it gives me an excuse to talk about these things where people normally wouldn’t be interested. Every time someone stops and asks me about it, I can tell them about all the issues that men face that are generally ignored by the average person, then every time they see me after that with a beard, they’ll stop and think about what I told them if only for a moment.

What does your beard have to do with men’s rights and health? Usually when I think of men’s rights, I think about the various things that women are unfairly given, such as many court custody cases where the mother is given custody of the child despite showing quite clearly they lack the ability to support the child financially or otherwise (though not all cases are like this). When I think of men’s health I think about how were’s just MASSIVELY more likely to be injured or die in the workplace just to provide for our families.
 
But what does your beard, or even my beard, have anything to do with those?

Well I actually do it to try to bring awareness to men’s health and men’s right’s causes instead of just doing it for some meme. So with that in mind it’s pretty easy to avoid any temptation to quit because the biggest temptation would be people telling you “you look like shit, shave” and then that gives you a reason to tell them why you’re doing it in the first place.
