Keep in mind that IF they are related, it’s probably something very distant. For instance, they might be something like 19th cousins, which means they share an 18th great grandparent. Most places stop caring after 3rd cousins (they share a great great grandparent).

That isn’t true. With first cousins, the risks are as about as great as a woman over 40 having a child. With second cousins they are basically non existent.

Biologically speaking, second cousins are the about as far as you need to go for genetic defects related to incest to be a real possibility, anything further than that and you might as well be from a different continent for all it matters.

They have like 6 degrees of separation “maybe”, if you’ve ever hooked up with anyone from your birth city chances are your bloodlines are closer than theirs.
