I have no idea, where you guys got information about G5 being more girly.  
I read leaked mails myself, and there Meghan was talking about creating new generation for older audience (like young teens) and orient it towards more adventurous plots.  
So, I dunno why are you freaking out.

For example, people thought Yooka-Laylee would be amazing, but it ended up as mediocre and forgotten as Kya: Dark Lineage. Anyone remember that game? Well, maybe not that forgotten, but mediocre, yes (Only PS2 game I’m aware can crash, BTW)
 
But what was McCarthy’s opinion on some of Faust’s concepts, again? I still bet something that if Chrysalis is reformed her title will change to “princess”. Because you can’t have a good queen, and Blackjack’s Law means Disney can’t undo what they’ve done, someone else has to do it…

The important point people seem to be missing is that much of this stuff was supposedly “developmental”. I.e. the creative times sitting around brainstorming ideas. Most of which will end up in the circular file and never end up in G5.
 
G5 will probably be quite different from G4, but there’s no guarantee it’ll be anything like the ideas that surfaced in the leaked material. So it’s kind of absurd to get bent out of shape over something that (a) we have no control over, and (b) we don’t even know whether it’ll be good or bad.

The “only real fans didn’t look at the leaks” stuff is what has been pissing me off the most about any of this. Fuck off, I still like MLP, and I have read about/seen some of the leaks. I’m still a “real” fan.

I think you didynt get all of it. I have the whole thing saved on my hard drive and i read thro it all. BG and characters are from the next movie. Rest is in the emails… they are so bad i dont even wanna talk about what are they trying to do!
 
But hey! I learned how to affect the show! Even change a character i dont like! Just send them an email saying that you are gonna KILL YOURSELF because pony X got less screen time then pony Y and pony X needs to be more AS YOU imagine her to be!
 
One email that pissed me off the most was bout including a male pony in the main 6 - everyone were “ok” with the idea but it got already binded as the toy would not sell as well as the pretty girly mares!

i consider myself a real fan and it was either watch them as they leaked or have them spoiled to me by the imageboards/boorus i frequent.

Fake or not these leaks are upsetting not just because of what they contained, but the implications of what they tried to do and what it means for the future of the mlp brand.
 
For somepony to write off the leaks as fake, or to write off those who are understandably upset does nothing but a disservice to the fandom that has sprung up around this show. And I’ve seen many people write off that sentiment as well with the tired “It’s main demographic is children” response yet conveniently forgetting all that the show staff has done to the show with regard to the fandom; as well as participating in said fandom online and at conventions.
 
This fandom isn’t some niche little club that can be written off, it has some merit, and the fans inside said fandom are understandably upset that we essentially have less than 2 years of fresh content remaining before the well dries up and Hasbro completely fucks up the MLP brand back into obscurity.
 
And that’s scary for some people. Writing off that worry isn’t helpful, although neither is harassing show staff about it. Fans are upset and want answers that they’re not going to get and we’re effectively left to deal with the upcoming unceremonious end to MLPFIM.
