In fairness, pretty sure it’s the age difference that is the biggest hitch for Sparity. Rarity loves being doted on, and Spike likes to dote. But with dragons being so long-lived, it might be a few decades before he even reaches maturity.

My response was more a little tongue in cheek as well. Oh, and the weather department thing all depends on if you believe that they all remembered their false memories of having the wrong destinies, because Rarity had Dash’s cutiemark.
That said, while I don’t necessarily disagree with anything you said (other than the weather department thing, but who cares?), ego could easily be a stumbling block in their relationship. They’re both very proud ponies, and things could turn sour if one of them felt the other had slighted or disrespected her. (Yes, they both have this potential issue with Applejack too, and they get both get paired with her plenty, but at least with Applejack they already have practice fighting and making up.) It could work, but I don’t exactly think it’d be smooth sailing.
Not that any of it matters, since we’re talking about Dash here, and she basically gets shipped with everypony even without a reason.
