How do important character motivations have nothing to do with the plot? Tirek didn’t think he needed to bring out twilight’s friends, and twilight would still be trying to attack him even if he did. Use your brain.

That fight went on way longer then it needed to go on for, the 3 minute fight could’ve easily been only 30 seconds.

That dosent have anything to do with the plot. He could have brought out the mane 5 at anytime the fight was unnecessary. I don’t understand why everyone gets so insulted when I say its filler its hard to fill 44 minutes.

It showed twilight’s anger and how she reacts to it, as well as tirek’s determination to subdue twilight in order to obtain her power, and they learned over the course of the fight that they were evenly matched. Twilight and tirek have every reason to fight, and they have no reason to give up quickly.

He didn’t want to kill her he wanted her power he had the chance to kill her after she ga e up her power it was still filler needed to fill the 44 minutes. Tirek would have pull out her friends and discord wether the fight happened or not.

Because she was driven to by Tirek? Because she actually could now with her power? Because rational anger leads to decisions she would normally not take? Dude, think about it. All her friends, the princesses, family, Equestria was down and she was the only one who could stop it. The house was just the last straw for her. She was going to get killed if she tried talking and Twi knew that damn well. So she fought because she was hurt so much and it was the only thing she could do in that situation.
 
So after everything that happened, do you seriously think she would talk? It was already obvious from Tirek he certainly wasn’t going to. You’re just really searching for something to hate or to be different from everyone else.

How is it not filler? Twilight has again NEVER done anything like that before she would try to out smart him not go on a 1v1 fight with him. You guys are just to protective of this show.

My thoughts exactly! I also thought Discord’s betrayal was too predictable, I saw that coming since “keep calm and flutter on”.

It is overrated the only reason people really like it is the fight scene which was basicly filler and really really OOC of Twilight. IMHO Terk was a boring villain as well.
