In fact, that’s part of the reason many Shimmerfans hate Glimmer. She can exist in both universes/shows, but Shimmer can’t. But they forget characters introduced in the show are allowed in EqG, as it’s an extension of the show.
Ironically, the reason Shimmer isn’t allowed in the main MLP show was to keep EqG a separate canon from the Pony show, and so those that hate EqG (yes, there’s still plenty out there) can easily ignore it, and stick to the Pony show.
Why do shimmerfans even care if she’s canon or not? She was never going to be part of the show even if she was canon.
I just find it bizarre that some of them spend time fuming over something insignificant. You don’t see, say, people that like sci-twi caring as much.

I know, but I guess her ponysona was meant to represent something, like the canon.
Also, apparently it’s no secret Faust doesn’t like EqG (her husband even confirmed it) but hasn’t been very open about that, as she doesn’t want to step on the toes of the current staff, or have fans emulate her opinions.

Trixie’s made alot more appearances though, especially in the comics, and recent seasons.
Also, those are just fanon orgins of Screwball.

There are characters she didn’t create on the show she still likes. Such as Derpy. Let’s not demonize her.
