Actually, many Sunset fans are upset she isn’t in the show nowadays.
just that she’s in traditional catholic robes, but her rosary has a moon and star attached to it.
I am not well studied enough to know whether that’s a secretly catholic symbol or not.
the swastika totally is thoughand the fandom has been overreacting to equestria girls since june 15, 2013. I think we can rest easy it won’t go nuclear now

I’m not sure I “get” that “catholic muslim nun” remark though.
if that were true, then everyone would have been up in arms about how dare lauren faust hate nyx and lauren herself would have become a catholic muslim nun
but thankfully, no one in their right mind mistook shout’s drawing of lauren faust as her own opinion, and AFAIK, lauren faust has not got she to a nunnery. so I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

While it’s no secret she’s “not keen on Equestria Girls,” I don’t think she has an opinion on the character Sunset Shimmer as she probably never even saw her before.
I don’t see why you’d come on an image unrelated to the sirens, and announce that.
True, but even so, with what was shown in Season 7, EQG has been proved canonical is my point.

your current filter.That seems to be one of the main reasons why most Sunset fans hate Glimmer. Doesn’t help when Glimmer crossed over into the EqG world with Sunset, they felt she upstaged her. (God forbid any other character, but Sunset get some focus in EqG. Especially, in their only appearance in it.) Granted, sense Glimmer is in the show, she gets more appearances, and such, so Shimmer fans feel cheated whenever Sunset doesn’t get to do as much. I can kinda understand that, but still, honestly Sunset doesn’t always have to be the center of attention, and honestly like Glimmer, her personality is a bit generic, when they aren’t being “cute & flawed.”
(In regards to how fans call Glimmer a “spotlight stealer,” which while kinda true, one could argue that Sunset Shimmer stole the spotlight from the Mane 6 in “Rainbow Rocks,” and in “Friendship Games.” Besides Spike & the CMC, they seem to be the most prominent characters outside the Mane 6.)
I hate to say it, but I’m starting to think some fans are a li’l too in love with Shimmer. Which is funny, ‘cause before “Rainbow Rocks” woobie-fied her, (a li’l too successfully, some forget she used to behave as nasty as Glimmer did, before her heel-face-turn) and even before the first movie came out, alot of fans hated her. (As much as Glimmer was at first.)
Let me make it clear, I don’t hate Shimmer, or Glimmer, but neither character are perfect.

That was always the plan doe. I don’t know why some people act surprise when they’ve been saying that was how EqG was going to be treated from the get go. I’ve seen actual people surprised by that when they really shouldn’t be when all you had to do was a little research.
It also irks me because some people really believe some character stole Sunset’s non existence spot or that she got a replacement for a series she was never part of.
Why be depressed about it? Does it really matter if she’s mentioned or not? It’s not going to make a difference.
Don’t remind me. I’m depressed enough with the show as it currently is…
Yeah, EG is going to stay a self-contained spin-off series even when it does have its own bits of pony content. I know someone who despises EG and refused to watch even the pony part of Mirror Magic precisely because it was still EG.

She could’ve mentioned her off-screen, but as you said it doesn’t seem to make any difference if it is canon, or not.
Besides at this point, putting Sunset in would just be like putting another Starlight Glimmer in, just with a few minor personality differences. Or it’d just feel like fan-service.
Oddly, some fans actually say they find Sunset more interesting then Twilight, and want her to replace her in the series. (As if Sunset getting alot of spotlight in the second, and third, and some of the shorts isn’t enough.) I don’t really understand that, as while Sunset isn’t a bad character, she doesn’t seem to have as much personality, or quirks as Twilight.

Actually, she kinda considers that an “old shame” now, and wants to redesign/improve the Galaxy Girls.
I think she just didn’t like making MLP “human,” because then they aren’t “My Little Ponies” anymore, (fans would get mad if the TMNT became human) and the high school setting is cliché for girl shows, and such. The same reasons bronies hated it at first.

You’re right that people need to realize it’s a spin-off that has no connection in the main show. As you said any FiM character can exist in EG but not vice versa. You never see any of the exclusive characters in FiM with the exception being Flash but Flash the Guard was barely a thing in the first movie.
As for your second point, I don’t think it’s because of that. She isn’t allowed because that was never the plan, she was made solely for EqG and not to be a FiM character. I think you’re giving haters too much credit as I really doubt Hasbro cares what they say. According to the RR commentary they made the first EG movie with the belief that it was going to be a one time thing but because it did well in Hasbro’s eyes they decided to keep the experiment going. Meghan also commented on Twitter during the first movie that the events of the first movie would not impact the show. Which makes it obvious it was always meant to be it’s own thing and separate from the main show, even when they were under the belief that it was going to be a one time special.
And to add to that I don’t know why people would even want any of that to be canon. All it shows is that Twilight doesn’t give one care about Sunset as she has never mentioned her on the show while Sunset still cares about her.
