I think they just gave him a 5oclock shadow, a bit more mass, and a mane cut.

Well… maybe he is. I mean, the colors are still the same, and he could have grown stubble and changed his haircut. The only thing different is his jaw… and that might just be flubbiness that he acquired soon afterwards.

He’s probably a cousin or uncle from bow hot hoof’s side of the family.

Looks too similar too RD to be just a mentor. He’s either her cousin, uncle or older brother. But I soooo hope it wont be the latter because then the mane six would all have siblings, it’s unrealistic in the sense that not everyone have siblings so not all the mane six should either. RD should stay an only child just like Hay Lin from W.i.t.c.h. did.
