Nah, that would be Sunset Shimmer’s replacement. Glimmer is the most interesting thing in the show for me at the moment.

I mean as far as the big overarching storyline is concerned. Season 4 didn’t know how to handle Twilight’s princesshood, the whole chest thing didn’t captivate me whatsoever, and what happened in the finale was just stupid. It was full of amazing episodes, but the global status quo development sucked in it IMO.

It’s cute that you think that, except what happens on screen has more weight than a single persons opinion and saying a kids show can’t have deeper themes or in depth characters kills your point completely considering that’s literally what the show is known for.
 
Chrysalis was very cliche on screen and didn’t have any depth or interesting characterization. Her concept was great and the changeling race by itself is amazing but Chrysalis was never deep or compelling.

Actually, that’s the way Chrysalis always was; it’s just that a lot of bronies insisted on reading it as grey-vs-grey morality despite the show being aimed at 4 to 8 year olds.
 
(Now Starlight… while I’m okay with how she’s portrayed now, her debut episodes gave her the potential to be the best villain in the entire franchise history. Eh, no use crying over spilled milk…)

I agree. While due to some episodes I really didn’t like I felt that season 6 didn’t quite match up to 5 overall, the overall directions the show is going and the way it’s progressing leaves me hopeful for the future (season four was a low point in that regard for me). Though if they get rid of Starlight early in season 7 they better replace her with something just as interesting…

Yeah, Hasbro seems to be afraid of any type of violence. I think Faust (TRIGGER WARNING) had to actually fight with Hasbro over whether that scene with Rarity bucking the Manticore should be cut or not.

Yep he mentioned that at BronyCon too. Flim and Flam would outlaw Cider, AJ would become a bootlegger, and Rarity would try to woo one of the brothers.
 
He also said that the baby Phoenix Spike was taking care of died in Hurricane Fluttershy if you look closely you’ll see him get dowsed by pegasai hurricane.

At CMPC he mentioned an episode concept where cider somehow gets banned and AJ becomes sort of like a prohibition style bootlegger. Oh I’d love to have seen that one made.
