I honestly don’t care what species tag we have to go back and add by the boatload whenever the movie finally drops, this is a kickass cool character design and Saldana is a great actor, so I fully expect Captain Celaeno to be awesome.
Going by the name, my guess is she’s not a griffon, but a harpy – a specific harpy named Celaeno actually shows up in Greco-Roman myth, I think she’s in the tale of Aeneas.
