Or given Rammstein’s habit of writing their lyrics with a double meaning it could alternatively mean “you hate me”, provided “hast” is heard/read as “hasst”.
Basically the waste containment wells the industry uses to stuff the waste water and chemicals used in fracking underground can cause the earth to slip and force and Earthquake. Not a very large one, but they can cause cracks in buildings and visible damage and there’s indication they’re growing.
@Greenjack
The sinkholes I understand, but actual earthquakes? Maybe earthquakes caused by sinkholes, as in just the ground shaking, but not actual plate-tectonic earthquakes.
@TJPones
pretty sure electricity is more efficient at the point of use since it’s not generating any waste energy, but getting the electricity down those wires… all the way from the power plant… electricity is pretty wasteful.
natural gas you can just pipe around with 0 loss in energy density.
I get || rock hard watching the bedrock underneath split open and turn, spewing hot steamy magma up across me, I dream to bask in its hot sensual warmth, feeling one with the primordial rock and I knocked about in Earth’s great vibration. Feeling its warmth on me. No: in me!||
@Blissey1
Ah, well my facts on that were a few years out of date, thanks for the update. But still, that’s one third of the electricity in the US powered by coal ( and more than half of my state’s electricity comes from coal according to something I read last year), and where they’ve replaced it they likely use natural gas instead anyway (seeing as it’s a relatively cheap, bountiful, and low emission fuel) If the machine saves you money/is objectively better at cooling then I’d say go for the gas powered AC unit as long as you’re in a geologically stable region.
@TJPones
considering that in most parts of america electricity is produced with coal, and the oil companies are burning off natural gas due to them currently having a surplus it’s the least wasteful you could possibly be seeing as they’re burning it off regardless.
