Punishment or reformation, both are fine outcomes, in enough time, but a two minute montage song of ‘redemption’ is not a good outcome.As much as I’m neutral and open to Glimmerdemption, that part left me and a lot of people with a bad taste in the closing of this otherwise fabulous season.Eeeyup.MMC was somewhat rushed to its detriment. That redemption chunk was just WAY too damn small, and comes more or less out of nowhere. If it had gone from “apocalypse wasteland” scene to flashback scene to her threatening to tear up the spell without more infighting, it would have been much smoother and had more time to be developed. Though there was SO MANY THINGS Twilight could have but failed to say to Glimmer throughout the time shenanigans that would have ALSO helped like, “hey you do know we were the elements of harmony” and whatnot, listing off the bad futures and how her friendships had helped her overcome them in the alpha timeline, focusing more on actually apologizing for how she’d hurt Glimmer by her actions in the season opener, etc.

The problem with her backstory is it doesn’t make ME feel sympathetic to her it just makes ME feel like she was always a terrible pony.
