Referring back to BGP#A85D, that’s my bet on griffons: fruit and fish. Eagles eat a lot of fish, iirc, especially in Alaska.

Gilda stole and ate an apple, though, so they’re at least omnivorous, which is in the diet of neither of the animals she’s composed of.

Yep! Worms to birds and fish to ferrets. I think fish are non-sapient in Equestria, whereas most animals are. Worms are fairly safe to assume as non-sapient, as well.
In “Cutie Mark Chronicles,” when Flutters comforts animals to earn her mark, she doesn’t even address any fish - she sticks her head in the pond and only frogs respond, indicating that fish probably aren’t sapient like the other animals are.
