Sometimes I feel like we’re in an abusive relationship; Hasbro treats the fandom like shit, and we defend them, saying they give us the show, and praising them for not taking down all fanwork. What the fuck do they have to do for us to stand up for ourselves‽

ah! I think I see now. so it wasn’t using the same exact design making a copy of the same pony, it was using different colors than the ones designated to it, but what separated it from being a complete copy wasn’t even that, it was the color intensity that made them separate then!

are you talking about anyone in particular here? I’m not seeing anyone calling, or even treating Hasbro as being Lucifer and if you meant what I said before, I’m more pissed off at them because of how they handled the situation, which I think is well warranted in this situation.
 
maybe you should spend less time bunching people into a pot and a la EQD and pay attention to the discussions taking place, that way you could appear like less of a reactionary person who read none of the comments bellow.

Unlike Fighting is Magic’s C&D case in which it’s the devs who flew too close to the sun.  
Jan, although popular, didn’t look like he’d get hit considering there were and still are other popular animators in this fandom who make great show accurate animations like Silly Filly. In fact, Jan even got close with people involved in the show itself without any issues. It’s likely the legal team acted alone, and unwittingly got all parties including Hasbro into this mess.
