On the point of Twilight rewarding Snips and Snails, I agree with you.
It’s why Magic Duel was honestly a lot more satisfying than I think the writers intended it to be. What was supposed to be “someone gets corrupted by revenge and is bested by their victims” basically became “someone who was greatly wronged set things right and just went a little too far.” Even her targeting Twilight actually made way more sense than I think they meant it to: her career was ruined because ponies decided she was a phony after being outdone by Twilight Sparkle, so outdoing Twilight Sparkle in a duel would show those ponies she wasn’t a phony after all. Sure it wasn’t Twilight’s fault, but again Trixie cares more about solving her problems than the feelings of some rich girl she barely even knows. Besides, Twilight cheered on the two morons who lured the monster to town and destroyed Trixie’s home, so I even saw Trixie targeting her as karma more than anything: where’s Trixie’s mustache for causing a ton of damage, Twilight? :P
Wow. When you put it that way… I feel awful for Trixie, but it also gives her some admiration from me for surviving as she has.
@WanderingHolyKnight
It makes sense too, when you consider her background as a traveling loner entertainer. She’s probably had to work for everything she’s ever had in her life, so I imagine feelings and sensitivity and politeness would be a lot less important to her than working for what she wants or needs, like they’d be first-world problems to a person like her. Look at her introductory episode: she gets up on stage and puts on a show where she inflates her ego, some people in the audience feel insecure from her and complain, and rather than dial it back or respect their feelings she basically tells them to deal with it. So they get on stage to try and get in her face about it, and she stands her ground, kicks their asses, mocks them, and continues. Keep in mind, being humiliated on-stage was probably the worst thing to happen to Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash in months, while the worst things to happen to Trixie in that timeframe were likely things like being robbed, going hungry, being attacked by monsters, shivering cold while trying to sleep, being alone, getting sick, and having two morons destroy her home and all her belongings because they wanted to watch some animal cruelty. Feelings wouldn’t even enter in to her logic while solving problems, so it makes perfect sense that she’d basically saying “fuck your feelings, your kid needs you so be a damned parent or leave” to a guy who said “boo hoo I don’t feel like being a parental figure!” :P
You raise a good point, plus Grandpa Gruff had it coming in that scene. I’m not a fan Trixie’s lack of tact, but I know there are times where you just have to tell it like it is. Besides, I applaud Tricks for sticking up for Gallus.

@WanderingHolyKnight
I like to think that Trixie is the kind of person who cares deeply, but is just very bellicose about it and doesn’t sugarcoat things. Like when she called out Grandpa Gruff for being a shitty parent: she was 100% right to call him out for not caring about a kid in his care, and she was right that he should find someone else to do it if he can’t be bothered to perform his responsibilities as a caregiver, but it could have been done much more tactfully than by insulting him and kicking him out of the school. However, her way of doing it was also effective as Gallus outright admitted nobody had ever stuck their neck out for him like that, so what she did needed to be done since dealing with Gruff with “tact” had been completely ineffective. Call her rude or out-of-line all you want, but Trixie was probably Gallus’ hero from then on out and that probably had an impact on his beliefs and morals for the rest of his life :P
When the pot calls the kettle black, the kettle’s still black. Besides, there’s a difference between losing a large home you were given for free and immediately being given a vastly larger one, and losing the small wagon along with all the belongings that you have to pay out-of-pocket for, for the second (potentially third) time now, because you are surrounded by tone-deaf morons who don’t care about anything outside of their own whims :P

@ABronyAccount
I think Trixie and Rainbow Dash would actually get along, if given the chance, since there’s very little to actually compete. Trixie will never be the best flyer, and Rainbow Dash will never be the best magician :P

After all, there’s only room for ONE arrogant blue horse in this fandom!
Again, fair. Especially if there’s someone who thinks they’re virtuous, when really, they’re not.

@WanderingHolyKnight
True, but there is value in a friend who will tell it like it is. We all love to be comforted, but sometimes what you really need to pull yourself out of a funk is to be told you’re making a mountain out of a molehill and to knock that self-loathing off XD
Nothing. They have a frank relationship :D
Couldn’t have put it any better myself.
Perhaps, but that doesn’t excuse a lack of tact.

Trixie’s the kind of person who would give advice that was inappropriate, insensitive, and even offensive, but actually be good. Like, Twilight’s upset about her house being blown up and how she doesn’t feel at home in the castle, and all her friends would be trying to comfort her and solve her problem, and Trixie would just go “Twi. You moved from a house to a rent-free enchanted waterfront palace. Yeah you lost some knickknacks but you’re being a whiny bitch. Stop that.” Then everyone would start yelling at Trixie for being insensitive, but Twilight would get home to the castle that night, look around, and say “Yeah, I CAN get used to this!” XD
70 years from now and Twilight will STILL be finding those Trixie stickers on her belongings XD
Don’t start a spray bottle war you can’t finish :P
