I seriously doubt it would have been re-voiced on behalf of Tiny Pop, they either don’t cut it, cut it or pull the episode altogether.

They couldn’t air it uncut since The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 because of the use of the word, and it would have been a bad idea to air it with the scenes involving cider cut or ban it since it would have pissed off the fans over there. My guess is they asked DHX to get the VA’s to rerecord the lines in the episode that contain the word “cider” and replace it with “juice”, while offering to cover the charges to do it.

Seems to be a permanent change then. Wonder if cider will be replaced in future episodes…

There’s still mentions of cider in various episodes that aren’t cut on TP, is what I mean. They aren’t guaranteed to automatically cut it inless the chars are spamming the word ‘cider’ in a scene. Fleeting mentions mostly pass unscathed.

Well given that two episodes have been either banned or subjected to lines being edited in the UK so far, I figure in the future the writers will be advised to keep mentions of cider in episodes that doesn’t feature it prominently at a minimum. If it does get featured prominently in an episode they will probably just refer to it as juice in order to not have to worry about having to re-record lines for Tiny Pop to approve it.

Asked Jim Miller about it on Twitter, and his initial response was asking me if I lived in the UK, but he hasn’t responded again after I told him that it was in the US Netflix release as well. But judging by the way he responded initially, it’s possible that it being that way in the US release is a mistake.

I sincerely doubt it was the soccer moms. Based on recent history and Jim Miller’s responce, this is likely due to the horrendous coordination of mlp episodes and movies with international MLP releases.
 
Cause….It’s been pretty damn bad recently. Mixing the US and UK versions on Netflix would just be par for the course.

Yeah, seems less like an issue of people complaining and more just an issue with cultural differences [Cider apparently only refers to the alcoholic variant in most other nations] and keeping which version should be released where straight on Netflix’s part~

Watchig the new version of Where The Apple Lies on Tiny Pop as I Type this. Must have entailed quite a bit of work O_o

Didn’t realize our favourite MLP VAs also voiced characters in our childhood old shows.

Of course. Many of the VAs for MLP have been in the industry for many years, and are highly experienced. Which is one of the reasons why they were brought on. I think Tara Strong and Tabitha have voiced more than 100 characters in dozens of shows over the years, dating back quite awhile.

But the thing is. There’s like a million shows out there. And it seems like most of them were voiced by those very few VAs and some of them worked on by the same writers.  
The industry appears, lack of a better term. Incestuous.
