I really liked MMC as well. I think the only real problem it had was that they never solidified what the spell is actually supposed to do once Twilight properly finished it, so it’s kinda hard to understand just what she accomplished when “creating new magic.” Meanwhile, I just don’t get that sense of it being rushed that so many others do; it seemed well-paced to me. I don’t know, maybe I’m just weird lol.
But that aside, I had a wonderful time watching the episode, especially since it was a musical (What can I say, I’m a huge theater kid~), and I adored the callback to the pilot with the spark in Twilight’s eyes.
Special shout-outs to “Celestia’s Ballad” because everything about that sequence was, to me, utter perfection, and to “A True, True Friend” for that glorious moment of the Ponyville crowd shouting Pinkie’s name.

… Oh, yeah, and AJ carrying Pinkie moments before that was very cute too! (I should say something about the picture I’m commenting on XD)

So do I, the songs are great! (not so much a fan of the princess behold song, but it’s completely understandable it exists since songs like those are traditional at coronations)

This episode did have its flaws alright, but there was still alot to like about it as well. Biggest error is that it should have been a two-parter episode. Recently, Larson revealed a little in a panel what the original episode was suppose to be like as a two-parter. While I still enjoy MMC, I do think it’s a shame it never came to be like the way Larson imagined it.

I just can’t bring myself to dislike Magical Mystery Cure. Scenes like this are probably the reason for that.
