Not too different from any other humans. It’s just kind of a funny irony to see bronies hate something for seeming infantile and weird… It’s really hilarious how ironic most things in life are. Bronies hating adult ponies using pacifiers, most bullies being abusive because they’ve been abused, a lot of homosexuality hate coming from people who are repressed homosexuals themselves, SJW’s crusading for gender equality and supporting homosexuals’ rights, only to turn around and defend extremely misogynistic and homosexual-hating cultures… Irony, irony. You have to learn to just laugh it off or you’ll go crazy for how ridiculous it all is. Or maybe I laugh it off because I’ve already gone crazy from seeing how ironic all of it is…

I had the crazy realization at one point that kissing is probably tied to the same instincts that drive a baby to suckle.
Why is it oddly enjoyable? It shouldn’t come as a surprise, really, suckling releases oxytocin, seratonin, dopamine - I don’t know that for sure, but those are generally the neuroechemicals used to form the mother-baby bond, and to drive the baby to behaviors that it needs to survive. Various external factors lead to the child stopping, but the neurology remains in place, this is probably, IMO, why kissing is a universal sign of affection, since it makes use of the same neural pathways that all babies need to survive, thus every mammal has them.
Plus, the lips, as warning organs to warn if unsafe foods are entering the mouth, have a tremendous number of nerves per area, thus are extremely sensitive (if you’ve ever bitten them or have a cut on them you’ll know it all too well), and typically, most tactile sensations are strongly positive unless painful (and even then they can be positive - hence a love of spicy foods).
Sooooo… In short, it’s like kissing, which is like suckling which is an instinct all mammals develop, so it’s like both of those, so it shouldn’t be too surprising. Leads to the same seratonin-oxytocin bliss of each of those actions that are hardwired into mammal brains.
(Note: even cats still knead as they enter adulthood: kneading is an instinct to help the milk flow when they’re suckling kittens. If you’ve ever had a pet cat, you’ll know that well into adulthood they continue to knead as a sign of pleasure)

I think what the episode could’ve benefitted from was like an episode showing Twilight interacting in some way with Starlight and try to show at least some relatability with said characters. As it stands now I don’t really feel any connection between them :/ which kinda makes Starlight listening to Twilight more baffling.

Celestia’s makeup and squeaky nose don’t come off and it’s been years since she was able to cross a room without a pratfall, sit without a whoopie cushion noise, or even pronounce her name without it sounding like “Silly Jestia”, but Nightmare Moon has been defeated and she has her laughing, fun loving sister Luna Looney Lulu back
