I find context to be important. This photoshoot takes place at a pool, so her being in a bikini makes sense. Her behavior being in-character is up to interpretation, as Vinyl has no real character to begin with. If she were wearing the bikini as a normal costume, like all those “professional cosplayers” you hang around with, then yeah, it wouldn’t really work. Given the specific set of circumstances behind this picture, I don’t think there’s a problem with it. But you do, and you always will, and you won’t even see this, so bleeeding cactus sausage parfait anyway.

I’ll just change my phrase so. “It is just a sexual appeal, so I do not see this as cosplay. I, let me say that again, >>I<< do not see this as a cosplay, simply a sexy girl with a wig and ears, until I see the actual character using clothes like that.” [Also the mane color is wrong. >.> But forget that.] I’m accostumed with profissional cosplayers and events, so… Yeah. That’s totally unacceptable as a cosplay [in events like that]. It’s totally infidel [we usually take the personality and the appearance of the character seriously when giving the notes]… But that is not a competition and she is just having fun [I think?], so whatever.
 
I will not answer to anyone else, simply because I will NOT change my point. I do not agree that sexual-based cosplays are good cosplays, if the character is not originally a sexy being [and the same goes to super-covered versions of originally sexy characters. I never saw one, but anyway.]

A) the concept of cosplay is like the concept of halloween costumes. Anything, and I do mean ANYTHING, can be considered a cosplay if the person wants it to be. Seriously those pony ears and nothing more on that girl IS cosplay if that girl wants it to be. Think of the poor kid who puts an old sheet over his head to be a ‘ghost’ on halloween. You gonna tell that kid he’s not a ghost? The thing is… there’s good cosplay and bad cosplay. It doesn’t have to be good to be cosplay.
 
B) Seriously, this lady has Vinyl’s ears, horn, hair, AND shades, and is using her coat tone (white) for the bikini. She is FULLY cosplaying Vinyl – what more do you want? A full-on fursuit? There are no more defining characteristics to a pony than those things and maybe a tail/cutiemark. They don’t wear clothes you can mimic outside of fursuiting and I don’t think someone should have to fursuit to be considered ‘cosplaying’ that pony lol.

Meh. I say “It’s not a cosplay” and people get craaaazy just because they don’t think like me. I never said their opinions were shit, if you read all the thing down there. Anyway, that’s not cosplay, is just a lucky hot girl with a wig and bikini. Some people would never see someone with just a cool wig and glasses or pony ears and say “good cosplay”, is just some nice looking stuff, like using a tiara or cute ties.

I don’t see anything about “being a DJ” in that… “cosplay”. That’s MY opinion. The world will not end just because someone agrees with me or not. And I will not change my opinion, and I don’t want to change anyone’s opinion too, I think is pretty simple, if you want to defend this thing as a cosplay go ahead, fap for it, whatever, not my business. But stop getting so damn angry just because I don’t think being hot means you are making cosplay. Unless the character is sexy, of course, like some Street Fighter girl or whatever. I don’t even know why they use clothes anymore, meh.
