Second My Little Pony parody in the Nostalgia Critic’s most recent review, mid-credits.
Doug is pretty popular, and I think CR is friends with him, which is why he did it.
Still, it’s surprising he was willing to do a pony parody. Usually, you can’t even joke with CR about ponies nowadays. It’s become kinda a “berserk button” with him.
(Doesn’t help, some people on DA are bugging him about his opinions about ’em, and such… Even if some of his opinions are weird/biased, or “typical Faust fanboy”-ish, I think people should leave him alone, or he might lash out more.)
Regardless of his opinions toward the series now, if Doug Walker asked you to animate something, wouldn’t you?
Actually, I was referring to how Chad did a complete 180 and fucking despises this series and looks for any given opportunity to talk shit about it even though nobody gives enough of a shit to care about he sorry ass.
…but that’s a decent view on it…
No kidding… Andrew Dickman used to be my favorite artist on DA, and somebody I looked up to years back, but he is way to obsessed with his own opinions…
He chewed me out, just because I said he might want to give “Sonic Generations” another shot, after posting a journal where he said he wanted to sell it after playing it only once. All I said was I didn’t like “Ocarina of Time” the first time I played it, but the more I played it, the more I liked it. Needless to say, he kinda spazzed out, and stated people like me are partially why he’s selling it in the first place.
I took him off my DA watch, after he got all pissy with me over that.
Amazing a guy as old, and “professional” as him, (and had one of his cartoon characters featured in a Nickelodeon short) could act so childish about video games, and such…
He also does things like insult Archie Comics, and such even though he doesn’t read their Megaman comics, (he’s a huge Megaman fanboy) and such… So he has a huge tendency to complain about things he doesn’t follow/understand. (Including MLP:FiM)
Because Doug came to him as the more experienced “Pony Expert” due to the “This sounds like a Care Bears or MLP plot!” joke and the fact that Chad is (presumably, given his low output) a member of TGWTG who can animate cheap & on the fly.
And probably because Andrew “Dick“man refused to do anything Pony related because he’s an opinionated tool.
He’s ambivalent and they’re culturally relevant. Why not?
The MLP part was intentional (“This is just like the moral of a My Little Pony episode!”), but Walker himself is more or less indifferent to MLP.
So probably just leaning towards “harmless fun”.
He used it to make fun of Ghostrider
No, (in fact, he still bashes it on his tumblr…) he pretty much only did this for the Nostalgia Critic.
He also stated he hated the whole “Flutterbat” before. (Actually, there pretty much isn’t anything in the show he doesn’t hate at this point. He went from “fan” to started hating the show, the moment Cadance & Shining Armor were introduced, and when Lauren Faust left.)

…Who knows? And who cares? CR’s just another random person on the internet.
Y’know, even if CR has been getting a li’l to passive-aggressive at times (like that shot he took at Digibrony, and tendency to quote-mine Meghan, and other show staff)
I also don’t approve of people trolling Chad either. That’s just going to make things worse.
Still, it’s best to not “look to much” into this animation.
Yeah, but you still gotta remember that it’s Chad who’s pretty much Doug’s only insight to MLP & bronies.
I still kinda think it was a slam on his part; like Flutterbat being part of bad fanfiction, like he was ranting about when Bats! premiered.
I have to admit this is kinda funny. :)
