Can you think of anything they regularly do that seems like horse like behavior? I can’t think of anything they do regularly that’s a trait of any mammal except humans. Twilight’s acted like a cat before, they also signal emotions/feelings with their ears which I know a lot of dogs do but I don’t think horses do. (when they do when they show their teeth and pull their ears back when they’re angry, but I don’t think equestrian ponies do that xD ) They don’t sleep standing up (aside from that one time AJ fell asleep standing) which horses do most of the time plus it’s safe to assume equestrian ponies have sleep requirements like humans instead of horses. Basically, if you go down the list they don’t behave like horses any more than you behave like an ape.

When they act equine like it’s usually very subtle, frankly behaviorally they’re virtually identical to humans (in a broad sense) and when they act like a different species they act just as much like dogs/cats as irl horses. As BG pony said, when they behave animal like it’s whatever is cutest.

“So what should I do when I face Twilight?”

“Throw dog treats at her.”

“How will that help?”

“I’ll find it hilarious.”
